Help with what? You need to be more specific. There are a range of possibilities, but it all depends on what you want.

I'm sorry but that doesn't explain what exactly you need help with. Court orders to remove children are very much a last resort after many other interventions are offered. It takes a lot to get to that stage. So if you want to prevent it, what have you done so far to stop things getting to this stage. Why are Children's Services taking this step? It isn't something they do on a whim.

Hi, social worker here Smile

You need to contact the social worker and put yourself forward for a 'viability assessment' to have care of your grandchildren as a connected carer - essentially a family foster carer. You will need to have some in-depth assessments though so be prepared for that...hope it all works out.

Who are they with now?

Mumsnet is great for many things but I wouldn’t try to rely on free legal advice that could be given by just about anyone.

Moondust001 · 07/05/2020 10:42

@Schmooo
I would have expected that such an arrangement would have already been considered?

I’m only familiar with child protection in Scotland. Without knowing the reasons why your grandchildren are being taken into care, I’m assuming that the professionals had very serious concerns concerning the welfare of the children and needed to safeguard their welfare urgently. Normally social services will try to ensure that children are placed with other members of the family, but social services have to carry out checks to ensure that family members are able to safeguard already traumatised children. This is sometimes called kinship care.
Social services will need to make an assessment, by speaking to family, education, health professionals, the Police etc. Obviously this is going to take time, but the children’s welfare is paramount.

legal help

OK - so you want a lawyer for that. There is no way that you should ever rely on the internet for legal advice. Legal Aid is often available for such matters - but you must speak to a lawyer.

This isn't a legal advice website. You need to speak with an actual solicitor. They are still open, go quickly to one in your locality and ask them to approach the Court/SS with a request to house the children with you.
They will assess you very thoroughly. If you cannot see why they were taken from your daughter (is it?) then be aware they are not likely to place the children with you.
