Anyone improved PCOS symptoms? How?

Hello 👋🏻

I was diagnosed with PCOS at 21 by ultrasound. All of my adult life I've had bad skin, even on the pill, except for during my pregnancies. I've always struggled to maintain a healthy weight too. Am currently 4st overweight.

I took metformin when I was trying to get pregnant and fell quickly both times which was very lucky. Had healthy pregnancies. Since my youngest (and last) was born two years ago I've really noticed that my skin is dreadful again, I'm starting to get a bit of excess hair on my jawline and I'm finding it impossible to lose weight.

When lockdown hit I thought right, now is an opportunity to see if I can do something about this. I've not worn a scrap of make up for weeks and have kept my skin squeaky clean. I've gone back to a low calorie diet (1000 a day). I am doing a walk daily, and average 18000 steps on my Fitbit a day, plus I run around after two small children all day long. I can't do any other exercise because I'm waiting on surgery for a prolapse. I drink tons of water.

My skin is worse than ever and I have lost 1/2 a pound. In seven weeks. I am definitely not eating more than I think, I log everything everything on MFP even cups of tea^^ and I weigh foods etc to make sure I'm not getting portion sizes wrong.

I've spoken to my GP who has prescribed Zinyert for my skin (it's worked before) and had a discussion about weight. He's asked me to make an appointment when COVID is resolved but basically said I need to lower my calories and move more. I've asked to be referred to someone who can maybe look into my hormone levels because this kind of holding onto weight can't be normal even with PCOS and I really can't eat much less than 1000 calories a day.

I've seen this happen to both my mother and grandmother. They held their weight until menopause and once it was finished it dropped off. I'm only 35, I don't want to wait another 20 years for my body to get its act together!

All the GP says is 'lose weight'. I'm trying, desperately, and nothing is happening!
