Falling asleep in the evening, this is driving me mad

Currently at home with toddler. She's not the best sleeper but she's far from the worst. I go to bed around 11 and get a reasonably uninterrupted sleep until 7am.

I am a night owl and can survive on less sleep, but for the past few weeks, I've been falling asleep on the sofa as early as 8.30.

I honestly can't help it. My eyes go and I think, oh shit I'd better get up and have a cup of tea and before I know it, it's 11am and dh is poking me awake to go to bed.

It feels like that utter exhaustion you get when pregnant, though I am definitely not pregnant. I've never felt anything like it puts of that. I was less tired when DD was up all night and I was back to work after mat leave.

I am reasonably young and healthy and take multivitamins. It's a really annoying me now, dh is at work all day and the evenings are my only adult time to myself

Sounds like you’re deficient in something, maybe vitamin D? That can make you exhausted.

I am also falling asleep randomly and I don't have a toddler. Lockdown is exhausting. I've seen a lot of people say the same.

Can you and toddler take a day time nap together, or could you get one in while she's watching TV?

That sounds like it could be vit d deficiency or anemia to me.

I've had both and they are both utterly exhausting. Bone aching fatigue. I've never felt anything else like it even when studying and working 12 hour shifts when pregnant.

I reckon a call to your gp is in order

I've been taking extra vit D for a few weeks now, how long does it take to kick in?

It might be anaemia actually. I hadn't considered that because I feel like I've been eating better during lockdown, but actually I haven't been eating a lot of meat

Vit d took about 7 weeks for me. But that was with a huge prescription loading dose, much higher than you can get otc

Anemia didn't go away until I went onto the depo injection and stopped having ridiculously heavy periods every 3.5 weeks
