How do you get ready super quickly in the morning?

If you wash and dry your hair, moisturise and put on make up in 30 mins then please tell me how. I have a 3 year old and a baby and need (for myself) to be more pulled together in my appearance.

Yes. Out the house with a breakfast and a lunch made in 30 minutes.

I can get ready really quickly. I'm not sure I can explain how. I go downstairs and put a porridge in the microwave first, do that it's cooled for when I've finished getting dressed.
Shower wash hair and makeup. My work clothes and shoes are in a cupboard in the hallway. Blow dry hair. Eat breakfast. Make lunch. Blow dry hair, which has now partly naturally dried. Make a salad. Or I often have left overs from last nights dinner already in a container. Pick up bag, keys, phone. Leave for work.
Ds1 and Ds2 are teens so sort themselves.

Cheeseycheeseycheesecheese · 03/05/2020 16:49

Hi, I'm quite lazy so I've never been a big makeup wearer and hair doer, it takes about 20 minutes or so for me to get ready:

Have a shower, dcs are similar age to yours and are either in their bedroom entertaining themselves or sat on the bathroom floor.
I use a wet moisturiser so rub it into my body when I turn the shower off before I dry myself.
I have short hair so it dries quickly without the need to do more than put a bit of moose through it.
Make up is literally day cream, primer, powder, eyebrows, mascara and a dark red/brown lipstick.

Wash and dry hair in 30 mins? You'd need to be bald!

I am vain so get up early.

I'm not vain. Shower and leave.

Heatherjayne1972 · 03/05/2020 16:55

Ha. Not possible. Do as much as you can the night before
In the morning clothes on. eat something brush hair and teeth. Lip seal in pocket
Done

lifestooshort123 · 03/05/2020 16:56

These days? Shower (not hair), moisturise, deodorant, draw on eyebrows, put on daytime jim-jams - 9 minutes possibly?

riotlady · 03/05/2020 17:02

Can’t you wash your hair the night before?

Likethebattle · 03/05/2020 17:04

@Aaaahhhndrea I can get showered and dry my hair in 30 minutes and I have part shoulder length hair.

doadeer · 03/05/2020 17:04

I don't wash my hair in the morning ever (waist length thick hair)

I have a good skin care regime in evening so all I need is 2 mins for light make up.

If I need to be out quickly just wear levi's and and a vest/t-shirt.

I either put toddler in highchair or just chat with him while I get ready.

Do as much night before is key I think.

SingleHandSue · 03/05/2020 17:05

I wish I could get ready quickly! It takes me an hour and 10 mins and I don’t even have little kids, eat breakfast or have a shower.

I get up then wash my hair, then I brush my teeth. After that I moisturise my face before I head downstairs, I’ll watch the news while I put make up on, I don’t even wear that much but it seems to take ages as I can’t get my eyebrows pencilled in easily so maybe 20 mins. Back upstairs I’ll make the bed, put deodorant on, then blow dry my hair before quickly running the straighteners through it, that takes about 20 mins altogether. Back downstairs I’ll open the curtains before getting my shoes and coat on and grabbing my work bag.

How does anyone do things quicker?!

moleeye · 03/05/2020 17:06

Yep

I can get up and get out the house in 30. I have a 5 year old and 13 month old

Eyelash extensions (every 3 weeks) regular shape and tint of brows (fortnightly) wash and blow dry (weekly) and nails done (every 3 weeks). The maintenance means I can get ready and out the door very quickly either for school run or for work! Admittedly it isn't cheap and it isn't for everyone.

So once out the shower, basically all I need to do is slap on a bit of tinted moisturiser, bronzer, eyeshadow (if I can be bothered) blush and lippy.

Run a comb through my hair and done.

Clothes always sorted the night before, bags packed and lunches done ( mine and kids).

moleeye · 03/05/2020 17:08

Just to add, that's just me getting ready for work 🤣

If I need to get them ready and out the door it will take longer!!

TimeWastingButFun · 03/05/2020 17:21

I put coffee on, dive in shower, shampoo hair, hot-cloth cleanse face while shower rinses hair, conditioner combed through, wash while that is working in then rinse hair while using facial soap. Turban on hair, contacts and moisturise then pour coffee, take upstairs and drink while doing make up. Take hair down, spritz and dry naturally (very curly). All in about 20-25 mins. It took me a lot longer when I used to blow dry my hair and it’s in much better condition from using less heat.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 03/05/2020 17:24

When DS was that age... waking up an hour before him allowed me to do my hair and make up undisturbed and tidy up the house before I was swallowed in the turmoil of finding lost shoes, hurrying him to get dressed or have breakfast. It did certainly help me to get Home calm and relaxed rather than frazzled.

TheMotherofAllDilemmas · 03/05/2020 17:25

Not home, get to work calm and relaxed.

Grappala · 03/05/2020 17:29

Wash hair the night before. Style in the morning.

Let moisturiser and primer sink in whilst styling hair. Deodorant dry whilst brushing teeth. Foundation, concealer, contour, blush, highlight, eyebrows, mascara, lipstick, put clothes on.

Pour coffee on the way out of the door.

francienolan · 03/05/2020 19:51

I can't wash my hair in the morning, I always do it the night before. Sometimes I spray it with heat protect spray and blow dry it a little in the morning for volume, think for less than 5 minutes.

I have clothes chosen the night before a lot of the time but usually I wear dresses which makes it easy to dress quickly and look put together.

I don't wear foundation except for special occasions. That means for makeup I only have to do my eyes, brows (and that's light touch), blush, and lips. That's pretty fast.

CostaLotta · 03/05/2020 19:53

I don't dry my hair or put makeup on. Shower, cleansing faceqah in shower. Quickly apply toner and moisturise face and neck. Run fingers through hair, pull the top part into a bun. Dress and done.

Roominmyhouse · 03/05/2020 19:54

I’ve got long fine-ish straight hair so it doesn’t take long to dry. I’ve blast it until it’s 90% dry then use a large brush to smooth and finish it. So that definitely helps, if you have thick or unruly hair it’ll always take longer! I also don’t wear much make up. Foundation, bit of bronzer, mascara and a bit of pencil on my eye brows which takes roughly 5 mins.

So basically have hair that drys quickly and don’t wear much make up!

Looneytune253 · 03/05/2020 19:55

I always wash mine on an evening and just straighten it when I'm getting ready but yeah a bath, get ready, hair, make up can be done in 30 mins ish.

BlameItOnTheBogey · 03/05/2020 19:56

The secret to drying your hair quickly is to invest in a really good hair dryer. I have a parlux and since getting it can be out of the house within 30 mins of the alarm.

BBCONEANDTWO · 03/05/2020 19:58

I have a shower, clean teeth, moisturise (no make up) leave my hair damp as it's really curly and have a cuppa - that's it only takes about 20 minutes.

I never wear make up so that does help.

amusedbush · 03/05/2020 20:05

I just can’t wash and dry my hair, plus get ready in that sort of time so I wash my hair before bed. I make my lunch the night before I set it out (or pile chilled things up in the fridge so I can grab it in the morning).

I also eat breakfast at my desk. I value the extra sleep in the morning too much to get up earlier Smile

Goodebe · 03/05/2020 20:11

I have a makeup bag in my bathroom with just five essentials - eyeliner and brow pencil, blush, mascara, tinted moisturiser - dead quick to find what I need and apply it in one of three mirrors (bathroom, hallway, bedroom) whilst checking to see where the baby has crawled off to...

Dry shampoo if really bad, but can get away with washing my hair once a week and under current lock down doesn’t matter if I blow dry it or not!

Make coffee and bring upstairs in a travel mug whilst fetching bottles and sippy cups of milk, throw bananas and milk at the children as they wake up and put them in front of the tv in one room whilst I get dressed / make the beds that have been vacated.

Deal with children one my one as they become restless - nappies / clothes then downstairs with the baby and the others will follow when they get hungry or bored...

Witchend · 03/05/2020 20:36

Don't use make up. Wash the night before. Don't have breakfast. I can be out of the door in 5-10 minutes from alarm going off if necessary.
