Bone conducting earphones

Does anyone have any?

Google has shown these are good to use with a hearing aid, but I see a lot of athletes use them too.

Anyone have any? Got any recommendations?

I have a pair of Trekz Titanium’s. I use them for running, I really like them because I can still hear traffic and other background noise. I haven’t used them with a hearing aid so can’t say whether they are good for that.

I'm deaf in one ear and bought some AfterShokz bone conducting earphones. It made me feel like I could hear completely again! The sound was in the middle of my head. I could still hear general street noise etc when running which was important for me with my reduced hearing. I would definitely recommend.

Same as above. AfterShokz. Love them

I wear Treks Air Aftershocks when I am running and they are fantastic. They sit around the ear and allow me to hear my music and hear any other noise around me too, which makes me feel safer. I actually am partially deaf in my right ear but I can hear the music very well, much better than if I use standard headphones.

I have the cheapest pair from amazon, I love them. Daily use for 18 months and they are still great.

The only thing I have noticed since lockdown as I've been wearing them to do gardening etc is that after I tags them off I can still 'feel' them on my head for a bit, which is an odd sensation.

Whats the sound quality like? I usually wear over ear headphones.

YippieKayakOtherBuckets · 03/05/2020 12:52

The sound quality is pretty poor compared to over-ear headphones tbh. I have a pair of Trekz Aftershockz and really like them - I wear them when I need to be able to hear what’s going on around me and primarily use them for speech recordings like podcasts and audiobooks rather than music. I don’t have a hearing impairment so can’t comment on that, however.

I’ve got Aftershokz Trekz Titaniums and Airs, love them both.

CMOTDibbler · 03/05/2020 12:58

I have Treks titanium as well, and although the sound quality isn't as good for music as decent in/on ear headphones, I really like being able to hear around me

Thelnebriati · 03/05/2020 12:58

Thanks, they dont sound suitable for me so I'm glad I asked.

Soubriquet · 03/05/2020 14:01

Thanks for the recommendations.

I think I’ll try a cheaper pair before forming out for aftershocks to see how I get on with them first.
