DS2 is 10 and was intermittently wetting the bed although it was getting better. It's something that runs in the family and we've tried all the usual things, and like I say it was getting better. Since lockdown, five weeks or whatever it is, he hasn't done it at all. Not once. It's remarkable. I wonder if the hormones that regulate night waking are affected by the stresses of modern life. Unrelated but sort of related I've also noticed local cats friendlier and mixing with each other more/less defensive etc. Grin I put that down to fewer cars stressing them out. The stresses of modern life really does affect us in ways we just don't realise I reckon. Anyway can't really share irl but thought I'd voice it here!

Less ironing to do!

I've found an online maths programme which has really helped my daughter. It's just 15-20mins a day, but each topic is repeated for a few days, which is what she needs to get ideas to stick. She has mastered a few more times tables already- she was struggling with just 2,5,10 and 11 before (she's on Yr4). She's also teaching herself typing.

life In general slowing down

I've had 6 weeks off work! 6 weeks. I could have been doing with it last yest instead of this year, but I'm still living it. Also, dp usually works 2 jobs and goes to football 3 rimes a week, so hardly ever here. I thought I may have murdered him by now, but we are actually getting on OK!

A friend of mine is loving lockdown. He's retired, but is always run ragged by the demands of his family (he has adult kids he's always doing jobs for, they work full time and he ends up walking their dogs, picking up their kids, doing their DIY etc) he's relishing having the time to do his own household jobs and his gardening.

Loving it, not living it

StirCrazy2020 · 02/05/2020 13:31

You reminded me Ive spoken to two friends in their 60s who were furloughed and they're doing nicely too, being paid to essentially try out retirement early. I don't think they were particularly sociable before.

Oh and I can go for a run at the beach whenever I like. Don't have to wait to finish work, or wait until dp is home.
I really do think I am supposed to be a lady of leisure. Current dp just doesn't earn enough to facilitate that type of lifestyle. I may have to trade up 😉

@23Aroundtheworldin80moves

Would you mind sharing the website you use? My ds is in year 4 also and really struggles with maths. I'm trying to use this time to help him catch up but so far he seems more bewildered by it all than usual!

Thanks.

@Chipsahoy we've been using Mathsfactor. It's really worked for her. Unfortunately rest of home learning isn't going quite as well
