Really want to have a go at making my own. And kids are so bored I want them to have a go at making their own food.

Has anyone got a very easy, make at home (no bread maker) foolproof recipe?

Thanks

If you like pizza express they’ve published their margarita pizza recipe Smile
Made it tonight & it was eaten by all!

You'd need to find yeast first!

Good luck finding the yeast that you will need!

450g flour (bread flour if you have it)
Just under 300ml water
2 tablespoons olive oil
7g fast acting yeast
1.5 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar

Mix into a dough. Knead for a bit and then leave to rise.

Meanwhile get any old veg you’ve got in the fridge, chop into small pieces and put it in a jug in the microwave. Microwave it for a minute or two until soft with a little bit of oil. Add a tin of drained chopped tomatoes. Another couple of minutes in the microwave. Blend it - there is your tomato sauce. Roll out the dough into whatever shape you want it then put the sauce on and cheese and whatever toppings you fancy. It takes about 15 minutes in the oven. Lift it up with a spatula first so you could peek underneath and see if the base is cooked as well.

If you want to cheat, I have recently bought a huge bag of pizza base mix from Amazon, you just add water and knead or mix with a bread hook attachment for 5 minutes and you're good to go. We have tried it and I can confirm it is delicious Grin

Flatbread pizza would be easy - equal parts Greek yogurt & self raising flour, (150g would do maybe 3 wee pizzas), mix & roll. I usually just put it in a hot pan for a minute & flip but you could put it in the pan then into the oven with toppings for 10 mins & would be lovely

You can make sourdough pizza if you can’t find yeast - will take you a couple of weeks to get the starter going unless someone local can give you some though.

I use a 500g tub of natural yoghurt mixed with enough flour to make a dough. It makes enough for 2 pizzas and is a really nice fluffy dough. You can use fat free yoghurt too if you're watching calories. No need for yeast either.

I bake it for about 10/15 mins before adding toppings and putting back in oven for 20 mins.

You are all stars Smile

I think I may have yeast! Need to have a cupboard hoke but it might be there. Definitely have all other options mentioned above and if no yeast shows itself I can try flatbread pizza.

Thanks to all!

@Sheeeeesh I used this 10 years ago, I remember it being fab and so easy.

They also do a really good shortcrust pasty mix and a crumble topping. That was 16.5kg of carbs to munch through.
Very yummy.

Can you make the pizzas and leave them in the fridge for a couple of hours before cooking them it would that make them soggy?
