Has anyone tried the new Marion Keyes book?

Yes, I enjoyed it and I absolutely love her but it wasn't my favourite - too many characters to get my head round. Picked up as it went along.

Adored Eleanor Oliphant. Also really enjoyed Sally Red Shoes.

Where the Crawdads Sing; Delia Owens. It’s wonderful.

Thanks @MuseumOfYou, that’s good to know. I definitely think her earlier stuff is better. I agree with pp about Rachel’s Holiday, it had me in stitches!

Bagelsandbrie · 30/04/2020 07:25

Another vote for Where the Crawdads sing- fab!

cheeseismydownfall · 30/04/2020 07:45

Another vote for A Man Called Ove. It has some similar themes around loneliness, unlikely friendships and redemption. Even my DH enjoyed it and he is s relunctant reader!

Cottonanimals · 30/04/2020 07:53

@pennysays - I adored Hot Milk. Deborah Levy's writing is so beautiful and emotionally accurate. I read that and then bought everything else she's ever written. She is so good. Even the very weird one that came out last year - The Man Who Knew Everything - stays in the mind and seems to make more sense afterwards than while you're reading.

@tommyspud I’ve read Grown Ups, I loved it. Thought it was right up there with some of her earlier stuff. I also love Jane Green books, I’ve just read the sunshine sisters which I enjoyed too.

The Girl He Used To Know by Tracey Garcia Graves has a very Eleanor O type character as it’s heroine.
