Weaning

Hi guys,
My little boy is coming up to 6 months.
I started weaning him at 4months because milk just wasn’t enough for him, he missed the memo about weaning (has always had way more than a couple of ice cubes each meal) he absolutely loves food! Doesn’t have much milk in the day compared, he just wants food. In the night he’s having around 7/8oz every 4 hours roughly... when I started weaning I also started a bedtime routine, so bath, bottle and bed starting at 8pm... before this he slept like a dream!! Would go anything from 6 hours to 10 hours some nights without waking which we loved 😂 but since routine and weaning he’s waking every 4 hours and we’ve had some hard nights.
Any suggestions on how to get him back to sleeping better? Before I started the routine we was both going to bed around 9:30, so it isn’t much earlier as by the time he’s had his bath he isn’t down until 9pm.

Any advice much appreciated, thank you

If he doesn't have much milk in the day maybe he's thirsty?
Or his tummy is having trouble digesting the food?

You could try giving him food earlier in the day and just milk before bed?

If he loves his grub and you have been weaning for a while I would expect him to have 3 proper meals, breakfast lunch and tea and a couple of bottles during the day. For some babies one after breakfast and one after tea. Depending on the time of his tea, many babies also enjoy a supper of porridge and a bottle. I would not texpect him to need more than one bottle during the night. By 8 month most babies have no nutritional needs during the night and so night waking is likely to be other causes. try to settle him for naps and at bedtime without suckling and rocking to sleep. He should go in his cot sleepy but awake. If he settle himself he will be better able to do that again when he stirs during the night. All babies will partly stir several times a night and if they are used to a parents intervention to get off again, will look for this. His routine is good so consider not only his meals but also his settling

Also to add at around 6 months there is a bit of sleep regression anyway to add into the mix
