A few days ago I tried to move a heavy table with my hands under it and my wrists facing up. My left hand bent back and I felt something go ping and there was a very sharp pain. I took ibuprofen and by the next day it was just sore. But today I forgot to be careful and lifted a heavy pan and got a v sharp pain which made me drop the pan. I’ve been resting it since but it still really hurts. Looked on NHS online and it says to rest it and put in a splint, but also that you should not take ibuprofen - but I already have 😱. Could I have made it worse? Is there anything I should do? It’s turned from a dull ache to a throbby pain. I don’t want to clog up 111 with something minor but it really hurts! TIA

A pop? Like a tendon popping? Or a bone breaking?

I think you may need to be seen. Flowers

Probably more of a pop than a breaking sound.... like an elastic band pinging inside my wrist, accompanied by pain! I fractured my elbow years ago and it was a worse pain than this that I just knew needed A&E straight away. So I’m hoping/assuming I’ve pulled a muscle or a ligament or something...

I’d go and get seen, it sounds like you’ve done something but it’s hard to know what without seeing your hand/wrist.

How are you @Badtasteflump? Hope you’re on the mend.

Thanks Fan! I had a phone consultation with my Nurse Practitioner who thinks I've over stretched the ligaments and sprained my wrist. She recommended a wrist support with a splint in that I've been wearing since and it's really helping now it's keeping it still.

That’s good, go carefully!
