Shameless brag - DD’s lockdown birthday!

Lighthearted ‘go me’ post I suppose Grin

I’m a single mum, doing pretty much everything with very little family support (even without Covid!) and today was my DD’s 8th birthday. I’d been slightly dreading it as I’d had to cancel her sleepover party which she was really disappointed about. But despite everything, and the rain, we’ve ended up having a brilliant day together. It’s been fab. We did presents this morning after breakfast in bed, then we played board games, and had pizza for lunch. Then I’d organised a couple of zoom parties, one with her class and one with our lovely neighbours, and we played games and music. Kids all seemed to have fun. Homemade cake time - bit rustic looking but turned out ok! Then we snuggled up to watch a movie before her bedtime. Feel proud of myself tbh! Not naturally extroverted so I find these occasions a bit pressurised but DD was very happy!

That sounded lovely! I remember my 8th birthday. It was my best! I didn't have lockdown or Zoom (whatever that is!). Happy belated birthday to her!!

I actually have photos of my 8th birthday party which was at home with about this many DCs (I got a camera so they are very shaky photos).
