Lockdown has made me realise that this old saying is so true!
Usually I am constantly on the go with a million things to do, work, kids, family, studying for uni, running a house, sorting appointments, etc.
Thinking about it, it’s amazing how much I used to get done in one day.
Since lockdown I’ve obviously got way too much time on my hands and have found my motivation has just disappeared.
I try to be productive and create a mini ‘to do’ list each day but then all my good intentions go out the window and I just can’t be arsed.
Yesterday I had planned to sort out my wardrobe and change the beds. Not much really in the scheme of a whole day. But what did I do instead? Faffed about on my phone and had a shower. That was it.
Anyone else suffering from a severe case of ‘lazy can’t be bothered syndrome’ at the moment?

Definitely. The more time I have the less I do. I was as bad when DS was wee and I was at home with him. His first Christmas was the most disorganised I have ever had as I thought I had so much time being at home from work that I didn't do anything!

Omg this is me!!!! Usually 100 mph with no time to watch tv, yesterday I thought I must be depressed. But no just being lazy and I did a few jobs around the house and felt much better for it but I really had to force myself.

This is me all over. DH and I are both at home with DS (3), neither of us has to wfh and yet I'm getting absolutely nothing done. I'm pregnant so feel tired a lot, but when I had to go out last Tuesday I got loads done, didn't need an afternoon nap and felt fantastic all day.

Apparently being in the house twiddling my thumbs really doesn't suit me - never saw that coming!

I'm exactly the same. I was far more productive when I only had an hour here or there to stay on top of things.

Yep, same here!

My friend took an "Early retirement course" when she left the civil service and this was one of the things mentioned.

Look at it this way, when you're working full time, plus kids, housework, pets, parents, shopping etc and your car tax is due, you think that you must do it whilst you've got 5 minutes, like when the kettle is boiling. So you go on your phone, off to the website, job done and it's ticked off your list, all whilst waiting for the kettle to boil.

Circumstances change, as in retirement or as of now lockdown/ furlough, so you've got a lot of time on your hands. Car tax is due but now you think "I'll do that later/ tomorrow/ closer to the due date ". There's no sense of urgency to do things when you can, rather than when you must.
