Hamper to cheer up parents

Have done a search but random stuff came up.
Would like to send a box of something nice to my elderly self isolating parents. They shop every 11 days.
None of the supermarkets, Abel and Cole, Cook or big names have any capacity for delivery.
Anyone have someone they can recommend as a nice treat or a useful food package?

Fortnums? How much do you want to spend? They do baskets with nice biscuits, tea, jams, or huge hampers.

Have you had a look at Wiltshire Farm Foods? Ideal for parents.Their website is great and they deliver direct.

Wiltshire goids? Not the same as a hamper. At least go Cook, M&S, Waitrose, John Lewis.

Goids = foods

Trumpton · 28/04/2020 07:37

I was impressed with the M&S food boxes .

Trumpton · 28/04/2020 07:40

But they might not have the “ cheer up” factor you mention .

M and S food boxes have cheered my parents up! Some staples (pasta, tinned meat, tea bags) plus some treats - chocolate, nice biscuits, etc. You could send that with one of the m and s fruit boxes?

I've read that Bettys are delivering. Also, can you join a local to your parents FB group? I found out from the one near my parents that a catering company which normally does weddings and things was doing meals and got a few of those delivered and they were, apparently, delicious and a bit different to your mainstream supermarket ones. And various independent shops near my mother in law have grouped together and started doing deliveries so I sent her some cheeses, fresh bread & flowers.

I had a delivery of special jams to my parents and elderly uncle who are all isolating; cherry tree preserves (you’ll find them online, they’re doing an offer of free delivery for first order).

I sent my parents a Betty's hamper, delivery took a while but that was because it was around Easter time. It looked lovely from the pics my mum sent.

I'm in the process of sending an elderly family friend a hamper to cheer her up, I've found nothing better than Fortnums.

CMOTDibbler · 28/04/2020 13:17

My PIL loved their M&S food box

Leflic · 28/04/2020 14:49

Thanks everyone. I did look at Fortnums but was worried they would look up the price online and get all het up that I’d spent too much ( they are massive bargain hunters}.They would never use any of it.
I don’t need to get them basics just something a bit different to look forward to.
Looking at cheese, meat and jam now!

I was sent a lovely one from prestige hampers. I was so impressed that I used them to send one to a friend too. We had the cheese and wine ones!

I've just ordered my parents a couple of nice treats from Betty's. Delivery next week so not too long to wait.

Houseextender1 · 28/04/2020 16:37

I've ordered stuff from Betty's. I don't know where you are op, but I'm in the north west and the independents who do knutsford market are doing delivery to certain postcodes?
