I've been wheat, gluten and lactose free following diagnosis about 6 months ago. This has largely helped the 8 month pregnancy swelling I'd been carrying around (not pregnant) and extreme lethargy.
Ive been glutened a few times by accident, usually when out eating with friends as I can't control cross contamination. On those occasions, id bloat up within minutes of eating and the exhaustion and bloating would last for around a week each time. The exhaustion is so extreme I struggle to get through a normal day.
I think I've been glutened again (trying to bring in foods which aren't labelled GF but have no wheat or gluten source in ingredients). I have puffed up a little but I just have an overwhelming sense of doom. It's horrible. I feel so, so down and everything feels hopeless. I'm not normally like this. I'm sick of lock down like everyone else but this is a whole new level of apathy and I just can't see the point in anything.
Please tell me this wears off!!!
