Anyone with a snuzpod?

If you do and it's accessible could you please measure the width of the feet/legs/whatever part it stands on!

I need to put it on furniture risers for our tall bed and I won't have it until nearer to the birth but want to order the risers now.

Thank you in advance!

It's on a rocker, so not sure risers would work

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 18:48

Ah. Is there not a flat part? It's going to be attached to bed so won't rock anyway.

Are you buying a new one or getting it second hand? There are different models and I don't know if the dimensions are different.

Unless someone is giving it to you for free, I would advise looking at different bedside cribs - there are some that go higher than the Snuzpod so more practical for higher beds.

NameChange30 · 24/04/2020 19:17

It was the Knuma Huddle I was thinking of, the maximum mattress height is 70cm.

The latest Snuzpod (Snuzpod3) goes up to 63cm, whereas the model I have (Snuzpod2) only goes up to 58cm. The latest one is wider too.

Sorry OP but I don’t think it will be possible to do this safely. As a PP has said it’s on a rocking base.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 21:04

@NameChange30 I'm borrowing from my sister.

I can't afford a huddle sadly.

NameChange30 · 24/04/2020 21:04

Which model? Dimensions vary as I said.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 21:05

@NameChange30 snuzpod 2

Just use it as a normal crib and don’t bother with the co-sleep element to it. We never unzipped the side with my DD and just used it as a normal crib next to our bed.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 21:08

@Myfriendanxiety I really want the co sleep aspect. I had a stand alone crib last time. I'll use it that way if I can't raise it but I'm sure I can somehow.

Could you afford a second hand one?

Might be worth setting up email alerts on eBay and Gumtree.

NameChange30 · 24/04/2020 21:14

Can't your sister give you the dimensions?
I have the same model but it's all packed away and we won't be getting it out again until August (baby due September).

Furniture risers won't work, just look at the images.

How high is your mattress from the floor?

OstrichRunning · 24/04/2020 21:30

I sold mine but it came in about 2 inches below our mattress. I think I looked into risers but decided they wouldn't work. It still worked really well as a cosleeper. I only used blankets - those ones with holes in them at the start, so there was no risk that I could see. I squished a tightly rolled up blanket into a very narrow gap between bed and the snuzpod, but it wasn't really necessary. It was so handy after feeding to just place baby into it. And sometimes I brought it into our living room, the rocker was great for naps. Getting nostalgic now!

Snuzpod and ergobaby carriers were my best baby buys.

Good luck!

Serendipper · 24/04/2020 21:43

My dad screwed a few lengths of wood to the flat base of ours and then we secured it to the side of the bed with the straps. It’s raised up significantly but felt very safe when attached. I will try to remember to take a photo tomorrow (I’ve no bulb in the room to take one now)

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 21:51

@Serendipper ah that sounds sensible - thank you.

@NameChange30 yes she can - it's just packed away so I thought I would see if anyone had one out.

@OstrichRunning thank you, that sounds like it was fine, I have a bigger gap than that sadly.

I have a snuzpod2 out! I can measure it tonight or first thing tomorrow (I'm just in with the baby settling her). I think it's less than 50 wide.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 22:26

@kiwiblue hurrah, thank you! Can you measure the width of the feet. The width of the bit I've marked on the photo. Thank you so much Smile

Was so disappointed I ordered a snuzpod and it arrived damaged, I then ordered another and that was damaged so was promised on the third attempt they would personally double check the box themselves for damage before sending and it arrived damaged. So I gave up and went for another brand.

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 22:30

@Oct18mummy oh that is disappointing Sad

Nothing of interest to say other than this was hands down my best purchase when pregnant. I loved my snuzpod!

justtheonethen · 24/04/2020 22:39

@Pentium85 so many people say that, I hope I get to use it!

Myfriendanxiety · 25/04/2020 07:04

I’ve got the snuzpod2 set up so will measure it later for you. I used it for cosleeping with DS (well I say that, he hated it and ended up just sleeping in our bed) then with DD she slept so well (6-6 from 12 weeks) that I never bothered unzipping it was I wasn’t getting her out in the night anyway! I put a sleepyhead inside if for DD, will never know if that’s what helped her sleep so well but I highly recommend it!

justtheonethen · 25/04/2020 07:31

@Myfriendanxiety my dd1 was very much up all night unless she was in my bed. I'm hoping for a sleeper this time- I have a sleepyhead so here's hoping!

OP posts:
kiwiblue · 25/04/2020 13:59

It's 38cm Smile

Re sleepyhead I used it with both and second one hated going in the cot regardless. First one didn't mind that (other sleep problems though!) Sorry!

justtheonethen · 25/04/2020 14:01

@kiwiblue argh sorry- I just want the width of one leg.
