Do you have a mantra?
Do you have a word with yourself? If so, what do you say?
How do you forget or put it to one side?

Depends what the stuff is. Mine is usually work and when I get home I always say to myself 'home is my happy place'

Running, if it's genuinely something I can't do anything about, other than figure out how to live with and/or move on from. One really stinging disappointment I remember dealing with by running to Chumbawumba's 'I Get Knockd Down' on repeat.

But it really depends what kind of thing you're talking about. Some Mn threads about ongoing situations with spouses or family members or so-called friends that the OP thinks she has no choice but to 'rise above' and put up with have me tearing my hair, because by prioritising her own feelings of annoyance/distress for five minutes and acting without being terrified of 'looking like the bad guy', it could be dealt with.

Reading, but mostly writing. Writing things down,as in a diary or journal helps to clear your mind of all sorts of worries and anxieties. I love writing anyway, I used to write little short stories for my two children when they were young. I am always writing letters to people, and never do texting stuff.

Gardening is good also,if you have a garden and are into growing things of any kind.
