How to enjoy a lockdown birthday

I’m probably going to be lynched for this as I’m 22 and still want to celebrate my birthday but never mind.
It’s my birthday next week and I’m in my student house with my partner, I would normally go see my family who I share a birthday with around this time. I’ve been suffering a bit with the lockdown and it affecting my anxiety a bit (I know how pathetic that sounds) and I just want to have a nice day.
So far I’m planning to
-order takeaway (sadly no nice restaurants doing delivery locally)

-Make my partner play cards with me (I know he hates them)
-FaceTime family.
Any other suggestions? I know this it’s not important in the grand scheme of things

Get food for a nice breakfast
Get a cake or bake one.
Go out for a walk somewhere

Firstly, It's not pathetic to be feeling a bit down and anxious with this situation. It's completely human and normal. I think it's good to acknowledge your feelings and take steps to cope with the anxiety.

Back to your birthday, your ideas sound good. You could also plan the day with lots of nice treats for yourself; nice bath, pamper yourself a bit, maybe order a new top online or something ( finances permitting!) even get a bit dressed up for your meal! Have a "day off" from watching CV news. There are lots of interactive quizzes online you could maybe do with friends or family for a bit of fun. Or force dp to watch your favourite film, after you've forced him to play cards Grin

You can always plan a celebration after restrictions are lifted. It is important to make your birthday a bit special. In lockdown you are allowed to have a fun day. Happy birthday Cake

My DD was 21 this week. She's here at home with us but the things we did to make the day special were:

Champagne breakfast
She had control of the tv until dinner (Disney Princess marathon)
Afternoon tea with scones
Takeaway for dinner
Played an online quiz with family after dinner

We also asked family to share their favourite photos of her with a memory via WhatsApp

Could you bake a nice cake together? Go for a walk. Make some cocktails. You could have a bake off competition and get friends and family to judge them from photos.

I like the afternoon tea idea, I’m thinking request smoked salmon bagels for brunch too. Cocktails sound good too. I did plan to bake a cake but I got shot down by OH so I’m guessing he has a plan in that department

Get either a book, a game or film (depending which you’d prefer) to read/play/watch during the day.

Or maybe a fancy dress video quiz with family and friends.
