So I have a kids ranging from 3-8, who I think always look reasonably dressed when out and about, clean clothes faces etc.. But there is a parent in the same school who has kids the same ages as mine and hers always look like like they should be staring on an American sitcom.. always..

Clothes immaculate, not one sign of wear and tear, shoes and clothes always look like it's their first wear(where as my kids would wear shoes etc..and they would be looking a bit scruffy towards the end of their shelf life) I like this family so I'm not giving out about them personally, but it must take some effort to always having young kids looking so cutesy... Is that even a word?

Does anyone know what I'm rambling on about or has the lockdown gone to my head?

We had a family like that when my children were little. They’d wear dresses to parties, with matching socks, headband and cardigans. They even had little handbags. Mine didn’t even look so ‘put together’ if they were going to a wedding. The mum, who is my friend, would always brush their hair as they went into school, and again as soon as they came out. My girls looked like they’d been dragged from a bog, although they were perfectly clean and tidy (for a split second) when they left the house in the morning.

My friends daughters are very high achievers, and mine did ok, but have a very relaxed attitude to everything, probably too relaxed. I only really know her eldest well (great friends with my youngest), and she never seems to have much fun. I think she’ll rebel one day, and maybe wear trainers, or even odd socks.

I do really like the family a lot, but see them as pretty much a different species.

That's exactly it, tho I've never seen the mum brushing their hair on the school yard, and they manage to come out of school looking perfect whereas mine would have hair askew, jumpers hanging off, ties (if we managed to find them in the morning) broken or stuffed into bags... Basically looking like your bog children 😂

I swear these kids go home and dump their clothes and get brand new ones for the next day from the United colours of Benetton catalogue
