Are these worth the money? I've never used one before but I'm doing loads more cooking since lockdown, and quite enjoy it but my oven is small.

If you've got one, what do you use it for? Thanks

Anyone? I'm wondering if they are something that'll get out in a cupboard after a week or two.

I am looking to replace my airfyer I had a cheap model but used it to death it was used 4 plus times a week.
I used it for reheating frying baking. It needs replacing I'm thinking of the Foodi Ninja as I do also have a much used instant pot

Can you use it for things other than chips? I love chips but it's not cheap

I love our Tefal, but we only really use it for chips. We’ve had other brands but always gone back to Tefal.

You can do lots of other stuff in it though, although some things don’t work very well. Things coated in breadcrumbs tend to lose most of their coating.

I love mine. I use it for sausages, bacon, pork chops (just put a little extra oil and turn them). Also make amazing potato wedges, leave them in 5-10 mins longer than you think/instructions say for chips. I also chop carrots and parsnips into 'chips' and do the same and they're a favourite snack Grin I don't really eat chicken but you can do that too.

IMO you need more oil than they say. Not loads, but meat needs to be coated and chips etc need enough that they don't dry out before being cooked. Cooking times also take longer than the instructions, especially for veg. It's a case of ignoring the book and checking to see when it's done to your taste/crispiness. But it's brilliant. As soon as mine died I replaced it immediately.

Thank you, I've just ordered one.

I miss the chippy the most during this lockdown and DD loves parsnip chips.

We've recently bought a nestling one from Amazon, one of our best household purchases so far. Breaded chicken etc comes out a lot better if its left to soak in buttermilk before being rolled in breadcrumbs.

I love my actifry but I also only use it for chips. Tends to mush up everything else, especially onion rings.
I use frozen oven chips in mine and rather than using the measure it came with I have an oil sprayer and spray the chips over with it. Takes about 25 minutes.

PPs saying it mushes some stuff - take the paddle out and just turn them half way through!

Grand in theory, but I (and I guess a lot of others) want their onion rings and chips at the same time and the machine isn't capable of doing that I find.
