Best hand creams?

I'm sorry if this is an oft repeated thread - my search function isnt working properly!

Despite having been at home for several weeks now, my hands have not recovered from all of the alcohol gel action that I subjected them to when I was still at work.

The backs of my hands feel like sandpaper - is there anything lovely (preferably available on Amazon!) that i can treat myself to? xx

Neutrogena Hand and Nail cream is the only hand cream I’ve ever tried that actually improves my nails. Amazing, and cheap!

Batfinklestein · 18/04/2020 22:26

Soap and glory hand food seems to be the only one that works for my dry, sensitive hands.
I also like L’Occitaine Shea butter but the S&G one is probably better and much cheaper.

Care home mans her here so as you can imagine my hands are suffering. O Keefes is the one, followed by nowegisn formula... other than that we had to resort to cocoa butter at one point as was all we could get-it was ok as a fall back but not as good as the Others and also I hate the smell!

I recommend diprobase or doublebase. They are both the same really. I get prescribed from my doc for dry skin due to my psoriasis. I'm not sure if you can buy over the chemist? It goes on nice and thick but doesn't leave your hands feeling sticky.

Ps I also work in healthcare and find the moisturiser in the wards irritates my hands.

Lemonblast · 18/04/2020 22:34

Aqueous Cream. Cheap as chips. Use as a full body moisturiser as well. Available to buy in Boots/Tesco and I would assume Amazon as well.

RachelRosie · 18/04/2020 22:35

I second diprobase, its worked wondered for our hands.

We are also using some Lush Oaty Creamy Dreamy to wash our hands. Its a shower cream really but we've noticed its really helped. Only need a tiny bit so the tub is lasting ages.

I have been using more expensive ones, , Clarins, Elemis and Margaret Dabbs but they didnt do too much as my hands are so dry with washing them so much. I bought some last week and it honestly knocks socks off any of the more expensive ones.

Body shop hemp hand cream was recommended to me recently and it does work.

I was using the o'Keefe working hands, until a week or so and I put it on and had some kind of reaction to it really sore and itchy, had to wash it off immediately and took an antihistamine it felt so awful.

I work outside all year, and use body shop hemp hand cream, it's the only thing that I have found stops my hands from cracking and splitting.

chocolateisavegetable · 19/04/2020 10:08

O'Keefe's. Was recommended to me by a nurse, and it's the best one I've ever tried.

Fleamaker123 · 19/04/2020 10:13

Atrixo is really good too, I put it on before I go to bed. Reasonably priced too.

Shopaholic100 · 19/04/2020 10:17

Aveeno is great you can use it on your face and body too.
