Food bank donation

I am going through my cupboards today and am coming across tins at the back of the cupboard that expire in the next few months. I won't eat them but I've put together a bag to donate to a food bank whilst I top up my fresh stuff at Asda today.

Can I donate bags of crisps? Ones that were in a multi pack but opened but the singular packets still unopened. I've just read that I can't donate stuff in glass jars? Is that true?

Any help is appreciated.

Contact the food bank you're donating to.

As long as the crisps are individually dated, I can't see why they wouldn't be accepted. I've never heard the thing about the glass jars - the food bank I'm involved with takes thing like jam, peanut butter, pasta sauces, instant coffee, all of which are in glass jars. The best thing to do would be to email the charity direct and ask what they are in need of/what they accept, this info might also be on their website.
