Help, I need to send my bereaved friend something, but what?

Sadly my close friends husband died this week. He had cancer and sadly died of organ failure at home surrounded by his family.
His funeral is next week, no attendees sadly. I've spoken to my friend and am trying to support her from a distance. (I haven't called, just messaged and said call when you have time as I know she has a lot to do and deal with.)
Usually, I'd send flowers but no florists open. So it sounds silly, but what can I send her? Any ideas please? I haven't managed to buy a card yet-avoiding Tesco just now!
We're furloughed so not much cash spare but I really want to send her something that says we love her and are thinking of her. something to make her smile?
Any help please? Thanks

I love her like a sister, I feel so useless! If it wasnt for this lockdown, I'd be there in a heartbeat. Thank you, sorry for your loss @pennow
I'm in awe of this lady, she's just amazing

You sound such a good friend. Letterbox Gifts are really lovely, most of them are out of stock but this is in stock and might fit the bill?

FlowerBe on not on the high street do little posies - you could get her three deliveries for the next three months instead of a huge bunch now. They are still delivering and are really sweet jam jar posies which last for ages.

Maybe a lovely letter and tell her you are going to make a charity donation. X

When my dad died a good friend gave me a small camellia plant. It's flowering in the garden at the moment fifteen years on and is beautiful.

One of our staff team had a bereavement yesterday, and we have sent her CAFOD vouchers - "water for a family" and "drought resistant seeds" - to celebrate her relatives passing and invest in life. We couldn't turn back the clock and bring her relative back to life, but we could contribute to a world where someone else doesn't die unnecessarily. Giving life is a legacy.

Some lovey ideas here ❤️

Not On The High Street has a card company called The Right Lines and they have a really lovely sympathy card.

Perhaps she might appreciate some Space Masks (if you google they should come up). They're scented eye masks that warm up and are really great when you can't sleep, Sam to relax or after a big cry. Like a hug when you can't be there to give her one yourself.

Sorry, not Sam to relax - when you want to relax

First best thing when my dad died was food, so I didn't have to think about it. Second best thing was a photo montage of dad and me, my mum, sister, brother, partner, friends from over the years. Made me cry at the time, but I love it now.

I've just been looking at this and considered sending a teddy. There are a few websites that do this and its something a little different to offer some comfort.

Costacoffeeplease · 17/04/2020 23:29

Have you contacted woolly hugs on here, they may have a blanket they can send to her. I did the same for a bereaved friend and she really appreciated it

My best friends dad does last week from COVID.

I ordered a beautiful potted lavender tree from M&S and had it delivered to her along with a note along the lines of 'hoping that every time you see or smell this tree over the coming years, it reminds you of your lovely dad'.

It cost £30 including delivery and when I compared it to bunches of flowers for the same price, it was a no brainer.

I'm very sorry for her loss. Such an awful time to lose a loved one.

Wow, thank you so much! Some cracking ideas here. She's really not a teddy or blanket person! She's hard to buy for! I love the idea of a plant or tree from m and s! Potted tree would be fab I think, just need to check delivery options!
Been messaging her today, yapping about old times and will call her tomorrow.
If she doesn't answer, that's ok.
Thank you lovely mumsnetters x
