eBay BIN/collection only - is it wrong/rude to ask for delivery?

Someone has some (second hand) purple feathers I really want

They have them on collection only with a bin or make an offer

If I add £10 (it's £15) to pay for postage and their inconvenience can I make an offer only for them being posted or will I have committed to buying on collection only

I mean I know they can say know and I know why but I dont want to offer more and then still be stuck with collecting cos I can't

I dont want to be rude but I really want them for a costume!

If they said collection only that's what they want . Don't bid on it if you can't collect.

It's not bidding just BIN or an offer

I just didn't know if I wrote "I can pay £x if you can post it" has any validity

I'm guessing not so I wont

You may as well make the offer - just send a message. I'd offer £5 for postage.
I'm not sure if many people will be interested in collection only items at the moment.

You can ask if you like but if they've gone to the trouble of stating collection only it's irritating when people ask for postage.

Maybe they don't want to risk themselves queuing up in a post office posting non essential items. So I would still ask before you put in a BIN.

How big are these feathers? Are they big enough that packaging for safe postage is likely to be an issue? Or it will be a big parcel so cost more than you think to post them? Some couriers have dimension limits.

That's why I would specify collection only, because I don't want the hassle of something that is difficult to pack due to size or being fragile. Plus obviously the seller could be someone who's not supposed to leave the house at all for 12 weeks.

And yes, it is annoying if people ask for postage on items that are collection only, usually for good reason.

Send a message and ask, I had someone do this once and I was more than happy to send it at their cost.

Doesn’t hurt to ask

I’ve asked people before and they have said yes

But I arranged for the courier to collect from them so they didn’t have to inconvenience themselves
