I realise there are better forums to ask, but does anyone have experience of multilevel imputation using mice in R

And be willing to answer some idiotic questions?

A what...

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:00

Damn I was so excited when I'd had a qyuck reply :)
That's mostly my reaction, which is why I don't want to ask on the tecchy forums. I want someone to be nice.

Usually I use my mice in Q.
But sometimes I let them out in the living room to play. Not everyone can afford a multi level cage , you know.

BeetrootRocks · 12/04/2020 19:02

No, sorry.

Grin
BeetrootRocks · 12/04/2020 19:03

I don't even know what imputation means. May Google.

ThisIsMyStory1 · 12/04/2020 19:06

You're best using the tech forums tbh, I use them all the time for this stuff and the responders are really helpful.

What is it you're trying to do exactly? Like, what's your variable etc

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:07

Well you're making me laugh :)

Chiyo666 · 12/04/2020 19:08

Rstudio?

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:08

I'm importing all my variables apart from one which is the cluster variable and I have no idea how to tell the script to cluster by it. None of the. Examples really seem relevant.
And I'm getting some very odd errors.

MonsteraCheeseplant · 12/04/2020 19:09

Hey! I know what R is, so that's something. That's the limit of my knowledge though unfortunately for you.

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:09

Yes I'm using rstudio

Is this something to do with measuring Covid-19 spread?

borntobequiet · 12/04/2020 19:11

Can’t help, but good luck
MN probably a good place to ask! There’s all sorts of knowledge and wisdom here.

Chiyo666 · 12/04/2020 19:11

Been a while. Isn’t there a group command then you can just omit the one you don’t want? I remember coding tables of data but only taking 1/3 of it and there was a command for it but I can’t remember what it was!

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:14

bitheby no I hope they have people who know what the hell they're doing on that!
Chiyo that's interesting as I was coming to the conclusion I just needed to give it no method, that seems to be what happens in the examples but they don't explain that. I still don't see how that would make it cluster by the variable though, surely it'd just be treated as passive.
I've tried that anyway and it's giving me loads of errors but I will persevere as you've given me hope I'm not too far off.

Chiyo666 · 12/04/2020 19:18

R would give me errors 12 times then id just hit enter again it was fine Grin it was a fucking bastard and I still have nightmares about it now.

Stressheadme123 · 12/04/2020 19:18

E=mc2?

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:22

It's giving me an error, imputation method logreg is for categorical data
THAT'S NOT WHAT I'VE BEEN TOLD
stupid program

K-means? I'm more of a Python or SQL woman but I know people who use R. But Stackoverflow is usually the best place to find this type of answer. No need to interact with anyone, just search for someone else who has already asked this question and read the replies!

Chiyo666 · 12/04/2020 19:28

Also student rooms. Find the psychology students. It will still be fresh (hopefully).

StealthPolarBear · 12/04/2020 19:30

Too minty, I am trying [sobs]

MinesAPintOfTea · 12/04/2020 19:33

What does your script look like?

Are you loading all the variables into one dataframe?

SansaClegane · 12/04/2020 19:37

Not specific to your query, but - sometimes often when something doesn't work, rather than typing a whole line of command, I start typing and then click the suggestion it comes up with. So even when it looks exactly what I'd typed previously, it will then work.

TooMinty · 12/04/2020 19:42

Can you post a screenshot of your whole script with comments showing what you are trying to do and where it is going wrong? Or would that be too identifying? Datacamp do good tutorials too.
