40 years & I never caught it. Boy, has it found me now. I look like something off a channel 5 documentary or text book. Light hearted due to obviously everything that’s going on, but I really am in a lot of pain & misery? Any tips to help me through the next few days? It’s on my eyelids, mouth, ears, fanjo everywhere Shock

Definitely do the oat bath & get the poxclin ( it was a godsend with my kids). Calamine dries the skin & makes it more itchy so might be best to avoid if you get the Poxclin. And don't take ibuprofen with CP just in case you're taking painkillers.

Germolene was great - anasthetic so helped numb the affected areas - perfect for your bits. I had it in my late 30s and it was awful. I took some left over valium i had and slept as much as possible. I suspect that's not readily available to you but do ask the pharmacist for strong pain killers.

Take anti histamines to help with the itching. Taking regular baths with TCP or Savlon liquid diluted in it, it helps.

It knocks you for six and you'll sleep a lot. Good luck.
