Since I had my first child, I am really sore when using pads and tampons (I have tried menstrual cup- and can't get on with) what do other people use? I have tried bodyform/ always etc

I tend to use kotex or plastfree (plastfree night time pads aren't so good though). The first few periods after having my DCs I found I was much more sensitive then usual so I used slim maternity towels for a while.

have you tried reusable pads though?
the material is less irritable and much nicer overall.

I made the change to reusable ones and it's been super, don't know if we're allowed to suggest suppliers on here?

I use reusable pads. There are lots of different materials to choose from. I have a selection of different ones.

Kotex for nights or if I’m away or reusable.
I get dermatitis often and can’t use moon cups and tampons.
Reusable are so soft and get less irritation I just need to order some longer ones as I find them quite short the ones I have.

I use reusable ones but if I really have to buy some, I use the cheapest ones like bodyform that don't have any plastic in. They are mainly cotton wool by the looks of it. Similar to maternity pads.
I can't stand plastic against my skin.

Supermarket own brand don't tend to be perfumed, whereas always makes me itchy. Reusable pants are great though, i used them for the last couple of years but my periods have now stopped due to the mirena coil

Reusable here too! And a cup

I also moved on to reusable after having DD as I found disposables uncomfortable and wish I'd done it sooner.
First I got a pack of cheap pads from amazon, I think it was a pack of 15 for about £20. Then I tried cheeky wipes period pants, Great on their own for lighter days or as backup on heavier days.

I just keep an opaque plastic box in the bathroom and rinse them in cold water then throw them in a large laundry bag. The air dry them. I thought they would be bulky and gross but they really aren't and I wouldn't go back to disposables now.

As an unexpected consequences I didn't need to panic about all the soldout Sanpro in the shops come lockdown and the panic buying.

SarahTancredi · 11/04/2020 11:33

Try reusable pads. I now only use tampons for the first couple if heavy days as although lilets are less irritating than others they still feel a bit blugh...

Reusables are so much more comfy . I'd recommend honor your flow or Tcs eco

Terralee · 11/04/2020 11:36

Boots organic cotton pads

AnotherEmma · 11/04/2020 11:38

Natracare which you can buy online, from Waitrose or health food shops.

As PPs have said though washable pads are much more comfortable.

pinkrocker · 11/04/2020 11:38

There were some natural materials daily pads at Holland and Barrett, the adhesive didn't irritate me but they tended to twist about a bit and not stick in place.

sor3 · 11/04/2020 11:39

Thanks so much for everyone's suggestions- I will have a look at reusable pads! I struggle anyway as I have heavy period anyway!
