Give WiFi password to elderly neighbour?

My neighbour has a PAYG mobile. Is there a valid reason why I shouldn't or can't give her my wifi password so she can facetime her family and friends during lockdown? She's in her 80's and I've known her for years.

That is a lovely idea and so kind. That will make such a difference to her I'm sure.

It's not often Mumsnet makes me smile these days but this has. Don't want to moan too much - there's enough of that - but we could do with more of this and less of the scolding and FFSing. Hope you and your neighbour get it sorted.

Although I reserve the right to completely backtrack if she's discovered ringleading some black market organ dealing or racketeering on the darkweb.

That's it all set up. 😁 I'm kicking myself that I never thought of it sooner, but she's up and running now. I don't think she'll be setting up a scam surgical mask selling website any time soon, but I'll take my chances.
Thanks for the advice, everyone.

That's a really nice thing to do Smile

Nice gesture but i can't help but wonder why her family arent facilitating this so she can keep in touch?

Presumably the family don't live next door so their Wi-Fi password would be useless to her. Having someone in the house to install Wi-Fi right now is far too big a risk, particularly to an elderly person.

OP that was a lively thing to do. Something so small yet so big.

Fair point, but we did know this was coming.
