What outdoor toys are good for tiny garden, to keep DC active?

DD's about to turn 7 and we're stuck at home (of course). Our garden is tiny! We also have a larger patio area at the front. I'd love a toy to help keep her active, can anyone recommend anything?

It needs to be something she can enjoy on her own if needs be as she and her brother can't play together without fighting at the moment. Sad

It's too small for a trampoline, but I was thinking - what about one of those small ones used for adult fitness? Has anyone had one of those for DC? Are they any good?

Singball might just fit, but I had one as a child and don't remember really loving it. (But was that just me?!)

What other toys are out there that keep you active?

Thanks :)

(Got a skipping rope, balls etc)

Swingball, I mean! (Have I just invented a new game?! Singball does sound like something DD would like!)

Basketball/netball net? That wouldn't need a huge space. And you can get ones where the base is weighted so wouldn't need to be out all the time.

We have a trampet the mini trampoline adults use and my nearly 4 & 6 year old love it and my 9 year old niece has one too in the house and bounces all day long on it 🤣 definitely say hey one of them

Basketball hoop? goals?

Boiled set? Archery set?

whatdayisitandotherquestions · 11/04/2020 00:11

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not sure a basketball net would work - it'd have to either be next to the conservatory (crappy 1980s one with glass that looks easily breakable!) or if not then the ball would be forever going over the fence.

Archery set could be a winner! We did archery when camping and DD loved it! Can anyone recommend a good set?

I know boiled set must be a typo but I can't work out what it's meant to be. Boules?

Salene that sounds great! Can anyone recommend a mini / fitness trampoline?

Just googled, found Trampettes which are sold out and some in stock that are eyewateringly expensive!

I think the whole of the UK has just had the same idea! It's a good one though.

What other makes are decent?

Why does this one say only for kids over 14 years?

Do they all say that? Is it just because they don't think it should be used as a toy or is there some other reason?

Hula hoops could be good?

wonderrotunda · 11/04/2020 00:20

Space hopper!

thaegumathteth · 11/04/2020 01:29

Sorry yes BOULES

Goldwispa · 11/04/2020 06:54

Hula hoop, pavement chalk, take an easel outside and do some painting,

Fluffballs · 11/04/2020 07:03

I'm not sure what they're really called, but how about an ankle skip ball? I loved that as a child.

MiggyMoggyMoo · 11/04/2020 07:16

@fluffballs I used to live my skipit! Good shout!

MiggyMoggyMoo · 11/04/2020 07:20

Love! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Mini trampoline, paddling pool, skittles, swing, outdoor table and stool (from a camping shop) for crafting - colouring/painting/making a collage/creating rainbows

Pogo stick or pogo ball?

olivehater · 11/04/2020 07:36

I’d get a climbing dome. My little girl loves hanging off bars. Trying to convince dh we need one but we are slightly concerned our 1 year old wii I uk’s end up on it.

stealthbanana · 11/04/2020 07:37

We have a tiny garden too. Some ideas - sandpit (get a blow up paddling pool and fill with sand). Quoits. Home made bowling (fill up bottles with sand). If you have a patio get some chalk and do hopscotch.

Argos have a really good range of junk toys that work in small spaces.

IceniSky · 11/04/2020 07:44

Too small for a swing? If not, we have one with a trapeze attachment.

Tipi.

My DD8 was in paddling pool all day yesterday, but we were out with her.

I am after ideas too as DD alone and we both work long hours from home.
