If no one answers on here there is a Facebook group called ‘Mrs Hinchs cleaning tips’ and within minutes you’ll get about 1,000 replies

I give mine a skoosh of bleach spray, works instantly!

ATowelAndAPotato · 10/04/2020 22:30

I haven’t tried this, but I know sunlight is good for getting tomato based stains out of clothing, worth a go maybe?

CMOTDibbler · 10/04/2020 22:36

Just soak them in Milton solution. Brings them up lovely

PeachesPlumsPears · 11/04/2020 02:41

I just fill a bucket with water and bleach and leave the containers to soak overnight (or longer if I forget). I don't measure the bleach but probably 1/2 cup to 1/2 bucket of water.

A soak in washing powder usually sorts most stains

Just a question, have you found that washing plastic in the dishwasher, leaves them with a funny taste?

I've stopped washing my tubs and soup cups etc because everything tasted soapy!

AvalancheKit · 11/04/2020 06:01

No idea, but even if they don’t come up clean you can still use them.

NewHorizons2020 · 11/04/2020 06:57

Yes - dishwasher gives them a funny taste. New Hinch cleaning group will tell you to bin them or soak them in neat zoflora. Fill them with a bicarbonate of soda and water and leave them in the sunshine for a few hours, removes any funny tastes and the orange colouring.

Milton. I discovered this by accident as I’m long past sterilising bottles, but still use Milton for the food waste caddy. I had it soaking in the sink and chucked a turmeric stained wooden spoon in there. It came out absolutely pristine. Since then, anything with a food stain gets a Milton tablet and comes out beautifully.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/04/2020 08:57

I ignore the discolouration.

(Just noticed this thread has both CMOTDibbler and RatOnAStick advocating Milton which seems all kinds of wrongGrin)
