I feel as though my DC have pulled one of the shorter straws in this situation as, whilst we're all fit & well and have a good sized house and garden, DH has been working 14-16 hour days M-F for the past month and a few hours each weekend day and I've spread my work out so I've been doing 4-5 hour days 6 days a week.
For the first fortnight, when I wasn't working, I was supervising their school work. This week, I've made sure we've been out for a bike ride or walk, spent an hour or so playing board games and done some cooking or "fun" housework (such as washing down the outdoor furniture which descended into a water fight as I knew it would) together each day.
It's now the long weekend and DH and I are hoping to have no more than a couple of hours work each day and mine may even be less than that.
So what to do with the DC? I feel as though we have already exhausted the usual repertoire of family things we'd do if we were at home.
In the time when I've been working, they've been playing with Lego, Match Attax or Playmobil, doing art & craft and building dens as well as going on tablets.
None of us are particularly creative - for example, we'd much prefer to do a colouring book than draw something free hand.
