@Bobkitten is it a particularly hairy cobalt blue? Hard to see the colour in that photo but that's my guess

ALongHardWinter · 08/04/2020 21:49

TracyBeakerSoYeah Stephanie the spider! Grin

ALongHardWinter · 08/04/2020 21:52

Bobkitten OMG what the fuck is THAT?! It's all furry! Shock

Lovemusic33 · 08/04/2020 21:57

My guess is it’s a female false widow (bigger body shape), I had one in my bathroom, I watched her whilst bathing then one day along cake a male (much smaller body) and she ate him.

I get them a lot in my house, they tend to stay out of my way and I have never been bitten.

Dizzywizz · 08/04/2020 21:57

@Bobkitten I hope that’s not in the uk?! I like spiders and can deal with our giant house spiders, but that is too hairy!!!!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 08/04/2020 22:05

BobKitten that's a cutie & reminds me of Itsy & Bitsy the spiders in Paperplay.
I loved that programme as a small child.

Not a cave spider. Looks like Steotoda Grossa. They are false widows but not aggressive , we have loads.
Cave spiders are photophobic, huge, and much more spiky legged.

SirVixofVixHall · 08/04/2020 22:10

You can ask British Association of Spiders on twitter, they are v helpful.

MichaelBoobins · 08/04/2020 22:32

@TracyBeakerSoYeah I had quite a few of them in my old house and they never bothered me. They stayed up on the ceiling and I felt sorry for them with their stupid, spindly legs. I only ever saw one brown house spider (the big meaty ones that run across the floor) the whole time I lived there and it was dead wrapped up in a web. I was terrified and wondered what sort of monster spider would be big enough to devour one of those and then I found out it was my little spindly leg friends and I was shocked that they could kill one of those big meaty guys!

Moved into a new house and I’ve yet to see a spindly leg friend here, but absolutely loads of big meaty floor crawlers. I hate them.

Twooter · 08/04/2020 22:56

Thanks folding laundry , just read they can grow up to 10cm😮

morecoffeerequired · 08/04/2020 23:03

We have spindly-legged friends in the bathroom. For some reason it's the only room in the house that they like. Occasionally one of them will suddenly increase in size overnight... at the same time as one of the others disappears.

Cherrytangfastic · 08/04/2020 23:08

Bob... That's a curly hair tarantula. Couldn't mistake that fluff anywhere Grin

Foldinglaundryisnotforme · 09/04/2020 06:51

I stand corrected @Cherrytangfastic

willowhazel · 09/04/2020 07:00

We need a harvestman or two because we've got a hideous fat bodied spider in the house somewhere, I swear it'd eat a small child if it got the chance. Bastard thing was on the lounge ceiling for days but now it's disappeared. I'll give it credit though, it got ds2 off the PlayStation when I couldn't, because a spider running up your leg is more pressing than the game Grin.

Bobkitten · 09/04/2020 08:11

Prize to @Cherrytangfastic, she’s a curly hair.

Thank you @TracyBeakerSoYeah, I also agree she is a cutie Smile

donquixotedelamancha · 09/04/2020 08:18

While you’ve got the spider experts here, does anyone know what this it?

Yep, that's a spider.

Kalim8 · 09/04/2020 08:30

Aaaaw it's been guessed already! I was going to guess that Bob kitten's was a Fluffy Fluffster.

EyeShipMiceElf · 09/04/2020 08:51

Our house was empty for a while and run down before we moved in. Fuck a duck, the house spiders had taken over. The first few weeks of living here we had 4 or 5 a night running around appearing out of cracks behind the cupboards. It was terrifying. Never wanted a cat more.

SweetPetrichor · 09/04/2020 10:18

@Bobkitten It's a Tlitocatl Albopilosum, I think Nicaraguan rather than hobby form?
