great for a holiday. but to live like that permanently - it just seems like a lot of faff.

Thanks @fuckinghellthisshit I have to say that sounds idyllic!

We’re semi-rural. We’re in a small, one road estate but in the countryside IYSWIM but DH and I talk about living like you when the kids are grown and gone.

I’d happily do it now only we’re in negative equity! Sad

tea I don't mean ting house as a 'regular' small house but something like this
basically a fancy mobile home.

fuckin I also live in a pretty snall house (not as wee as yours but it's neat and the upstairs is very heavily coombed) and I love it but you're right, the number of people who feel the need to comment... annoying!

If I was single and fabulous I wouldn’t say no to living in Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment, mind you I would want it in a glamorous city location in the UK which would mean it would cost a fortune...sort of defeats the object I guess!

tiny house I think a few people haven't heard of what they are calling tiny houses, this is the sort of thing it's a fashion with downsizers who want to live a minimalist life in the country but can't afford a large house or plot of land. Inside they are very cleverly laid out and normally beautifully decorated.

YakkityYakYakYak · 07/04/2020 19:13

If I lived alone I definitely could, but I’m pretty minimalistic and very tidy.

I could definitely not live in a tiny house with DH, even in a 3 bedroom house we struggle for space for all his crap!

Melfish · 07/04/2020 19:21

I love that Tiny House series. I don't think I could live in one with DH and DD- we would drive each other nuts!
DD and I thought it would be good if we could get one each and park them next to each other.

Ladyglitterfairydust · 07/04/2020 20:07

No I don’t think I could. We’re a family of 4 (dc are 7 and 4) and it’s not like we’ve got loads of stuff, we really haven’t. It’s more that we all like own space at times. I’m truly grateful that given the current lockdown situation we are fortunate enough to have a large(ish) 4 bedroom house with a reasonable sized garden.

H1978 · 07/04/2020 21:07

I would like to once the kids are gone otherwise dh and I would rattle around in our current house over three floors but it would need an garden of some sort even just a small one

That’s just me though can’t see dh wanting to move out of the area we’re in 😕

mizu · 07/04/2020 21:34

Yes, i think i could. Have always lived in small spaces and currently live in a 2 bed maisonette with DH and 2 teenagers. We do have quite a big private garden though which helps.

lokoho · 07/04/2020 21:42

I did, for several years. A 2x3m with some clever internals.

It's limiting, as you can imagine. Nice for a bit and then just very limiting. I also got terrible asthma. Other people loved it! I think it would have been better out of town.

I live in a massive place now. Got two dining rooms to make up for it. Grin

Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment was much, much bigger than “tiny houses”.
