Any tips to prevent this recurring migraine?

I have had a migraine every day for the past 4 weeks. The migraine will go away if I use my triptan medication but it always comes back within 12 - 24 hours. I have tried not using the triptans for over a week but the headache never once subsided. I was vomiting so much my face was badly bruised and purple. The migraine wouldn't go . I took a triptan last night when the pain became too much to bear and now I am just dreading and waiting for it to hit again.

Things I've been doing are walking, drinking lots of water being really gentle with myself, taking my preventative medication, getting to bed at a decent time etc. I just can't break the cycle.

I don't want to go to A&E I have never done that for migraine. I've been living with this condition for 25 years and am under the care of a specialist neurologist. My next appointment isn't until July and nobody is answering the clinic phone (whichbI understand).

My plan for today is to lie in bed in the dark, take an Epsom salt bath and drink lots of water to try and break the cycle. Does anyone else have any tips?

I always take a small flask to bed so I can drink it as soon as I open my eyes but i drink quite a bit throughout the day too. My migraines always come on and wake me up, between 3am and 8am and coffee definitely lessens that terrible intense, crunching pain.

I hope you get some relief, somehow. Awful things!!!

@MaMisled the specialist I saw advised me to drink coffee at bedtime because the worst migraines I get are the ones that come on in the night. Not a lot, couple of fingers in the bottom of a cup but I swear it's changed my life. It sounded mad when she said it to me but she was right

Artificial sweetener can be a trigger, sometimes things you have had regularly and previously been ok with, can change their ingredients.

Perhaps you can get an anti-emetic prescribed for you, like Cyclozene or Stemetil? It’s horrible having uncontrolled vomiting and can lead to other complications- it affects your teeth if it’s happening regularly and I once pulled muscles in my back from it. I was also told by my consultant to cut out all caffeine and painkillers other than my prescribed triptans because they made the headaches worse. He also pointed out that decaf coffee and tea still contain a certain amount of caffeine so to only drink caffeine-free versions.

I was told by a migraine specialist that I sometimes wake with a migraine due to needing some sugar. She said to have a couple of jelly babies before bed!

Personally I haven't had to do that for a while, but I do find if I try and cut out coffee quite drastically it does give me migraines.

I put a cool damp flannel on the back of my neck and a fan directed at my face when it's really bad. It does help. Also I know it sounds daft as I'm sure you've tried it, but 2 ibuprofen and 2 paracetamol together, as soon as I feel the migraine coming on help a lot, and normally beat it back. Triptans don't work for me though.
