Being dense - can I take kids to the park

Imknackeredzzz · 06/04/2020 15:50

As it says, I know we can only go out once for daily exercise. Have a 4 and 2 year old. Would I be able to take them To the swing park which will fairly quiet for the excercise?

Or are we only able to go for walks ?

Sorry if stupid question

No you can’t. They should all be closed anyway.

Iwantcollarbones · 06/04/2020 15:51

Walks only. Most parks have closed playgrounds as the virus lives on surfaces

No you can’t take them to play on a playground unfortunately.

Adesignforstrife · 06/04/2020 15:53

Park, yes. Playground/swings, no.

Voxx · 06/04/2020 15:53

You can take them for a walk but you can’t take them on the swings or other play equipment.

ItchyScratch · 06/04/2020 15:53

Yeah sadly not.
My 3 year old asks every day if I can take her and it’s so hard giving excuses that she doesn’t understand and is getting very frustrated

ohmysoul · 06/04/2020 15:54

Only to walk. Not on the swings or any other playground type thing.

LockedInMadness · 06/04/2020 15:55
Hmm
WickedlyPetite · 06/04/2020 15:55

To walk or ride bikes - yes.

To sit, sunbathe, play on the swings - no.

MarinaMarinara · 06/04/2020 16:08

You may find that there aren’t any swings. Our local park has had the swings removed temporarily so that people can’t use them, and the climbing frames are taped off.

MigginsMrs · 06/04/2020 16:09

No, play equipment should be closed. A walk in the park is ok as exercise though if you can maintain distance

Embracelife · 06/04/2020 16:11

Go for a walk. Let them roll down a hill. Invent a game. Kick a ball along.
Dont go near the swing park so they see what they cannot have.

wouldyouadamandeveit · 06/04/2020 16:13

I was Shock the other day when I spotted this in our local park. That's a baby they've placed on the swing, both adult had a turn too Angry

zigaziga · 06/04/2020 16:15

Is it still open? I haven’t been to check but I’m 99% sure that our local parks are still open but the playground bits are locked shut as I saw a statement from the council about it on Twitter.

Oblomov20 · 06/04/2020 16:15

All parks should be closed.
Did you not know this? How can you not know this?

Oblomov20 · 06/04/2020 16:16

I mean playground parks, for kids, with slides and swings.
They should be closed.

inwood · 06/04/2020 16:18

It has been very well publicised that the answer is no.

Littleshortcake · 06/04/2020 16:18

No .. this really is quite clear

TheReluctantCountess · 06/04/2020 16:19

Nope. Not even if you attempt to sanitize things.

Imknackeredzzz · 06/04/2020 16:20

Thank you - I only asked as the parks near me are open with kids in the swing! So thought maybe I had it wrong

I don't think there are any stupid questions OP! Certainly some stupid answers though Wink

Daffodil55 · 06/04/2020 16:53

OP where have you been the last two weeks? By that I mean have you not seen countless instructions and advice that touching surfaces like swings/slides/park benches is far too risky!

I pass two parks with children's climbing frames and swings on my walks and so far have not seen one child anywhere near them.

Thisismytimetoshine · 06/04/2020 16:57

Why the hell are people still confused about this?? What exactly is your difficulty?
Clue yourself in, ffs, or we’ll never get out of lockdown Angry

LesLavandes · 06/04/2020 16:59

Agree with previous poster. This is awful
