Can anyone suggest some resources I may be able to use please. I had a baby 4 days ago, my first, was in hospital for 24 hrs and then left as they want people out ASAP because of Coronavirus.i don’t seem to be able to speak with a midwife and the health visitor doesn’t appear available. Is it possible to FaceTime a health visitor or midwife for help?

What do you need help with my love?

Do you have a maternity helpline for your hospital?

CloudyVanilla · 05/04/2020 19:21

Hiya OP, you should have been given a number on your notes to call, so early after birth it could still be midwives, otherwise it will be the health visitor. If you don't have their number you should be able to Google the number of your health visiting service. If urgent you can also call the postnatal ward at the hospital. You normally get a 3 day and 5 day visit, have those been cancelled? Were you told anything about an alternative e.g. a phone call?

Hope you are okay, are there any questions here you could ask which may help you?

I’ve found Mumsnet to be the most helpful resource so far, for breastfeeding, what’s normal, everything. Ask away here x

Didntwanttochangemyname · 05/04/2020 19:28

Mumsnet is amazing for exactly this, ask away!

I hope you’re ok...like previous poster said, there should be a number on your notes and you are still under the care of the community midwife. Call them. X

And don't feel like they pushed you out, if you had a vaginal birth, there is no need to stay in over night.
If you can't find the number, ring your GP, the receptionist should be able to help you contact someone.

Hi Op.

Congratulations! What do you need help with? Mumsnet is amazing for breastfeeding advice. Flowers

I have 6 week old twins, so if I can help in anyway as just recently gone through the experience ask away!

When you left you should of been given a number to call back - or if you can’t find it you can ring your maternity ward and they should be able to redirect you...your still under the midwife until day 10/12 ish 😊
