Any GPs around?

I have an internal stye in my lower right eyelid, it started a couple of days ago. I've been bathing it with salt water and with tea. Is this okay? Is there anything else I can do without leaving the house?

I'm not a GP but what the hell do you mean by bathing it with tea?

I'd stick with the salt water - as often as you can.

When I have a stye on upper eyelid, I find the infected eyelash and pull it out with tweezers, helps it almost immediately. Not sure how easy that would be on lower lash line.

Ouch, I've had a few stys and one ended up really painful and I got some brolene or golden eye drops from the chemist but I'm not sure if you are able to get to a chemist with the situation were in.
I know it's an old wifes tale using gold on them but I found when it first starts showing itself as you can usually feel it ,I rubbed my wedding rings which are gold over it on the outside of my eye and once I've done this it never got worse again. It could just be conicidence but I always do this now and they go within a few days.
I don't know what else helps as the only painful one I had I believed got worse because I was bathing it etc. So I just do the above now.

Using drops from a warm teabag. A doctor told me, years ago, to do this when I had a mild case of pink eye. He said the tannic acid was helpful and it worked. I thought this was similar, so that's what I've been doing. I really don't want to go out Smile

It's inside, I can't see it unless I pull my eyelid down.

I soak a cotton bud with boiled water which has cooled enough to be comfortable, and then hold it on the stye for a few seconds. It soothes the area and helps to heal the stye.

Can you phone your pharmacist? They could suggest an alternative. It should clear up on its own within 4 days or so according to NHS website.
