Getting into journalling

Age seems to be catching up with me and I've decided that it's time to start journalling so that in the future, I'll be able to look through these books and have a good idea as to what my state of mind was when I was younger. Here's the problem: I don't know where to begin!

I'm not a very visual person and prefer blocks of text to pictures. However, I feel like the 'journalling experience' has to be good i.e. I need to like the notebook/pen or I'll just end up giving up.

I've narrowed it down to 2 choices.

  1. www.thejournalshop.com/notebooks/by-brand/midori/midori-md-notebook-b6-grid-paper-english-version

or

  1. www.leuchtturm1917.us/notebook-paperback-b6-softcover-123-numbered-pages-5-x-7-1-2-in.html

I love the minimalistic style of the Midori (#1) and the fact that it has more pages. I've also used their products when I was at uni and adored them. However, the Leuchtturm1917 (#2) feels more 'structured' in a way and I feel like that might ultimately be beneficial for me? I'm not planning to write much, just perhaps a paragraph a day or whenever I feel particularly strongly about something.

Which would you pick if you were me? Thanks!

I personally like the leuchtturm. It reminds me of mine actually, which is from ordning and reda which is another nice paper brand.

If you'll always sit at a table to write the first one looks like a nice lay flat option but the second one looks more portable if you'll be in bed, the sofa, the garden etc to write.
