So far I have painted the kitchen cupboards and kitchen.

Painted the front door with the left over cupboard paint as it can be used on the door also.

Made a load of batch meals and froze them.

I'm going to de weed the cement in the paving flags at the weekend and re cement them.

Then I might gloss everywhere that needs it if I am really, really looking for something to do.

Yep where possible plus I have to adapt assessments. My course is professionally accredited so making sure students meet the bare minimum of their professional requirements is causing a lot of stress.
Plus my students have the same issue as me with regards childcare so I've had to do a lot of virtual handholding.
As we don't know when we'll be back we're also being asked to make sure our entire courses can be delivered online in case that's what we need to do in September. I'm ridiculously busy.

CheshireAxe · 03/04/2020 22:56

Work for a bank. In the fraud team. People getting scammed all the fucking time.

Olsihabi · 03/04/2020 22:58

Worked pretty much non-stop 8am-6pm or later. DP's job is looking iffy as he works in aviation (he is also WFH but having to make his team redundant, he might be next) so need to keep my nose to the grindstone for now. I work from home anyway so it's not too much of a change in routine for me - just fewer dog walks!

Namelesswonder · 03/04/2020 22:58

Working 12 hour days while trying to homeschool 2 children and run a house. NHS backoffice function. I would love to be bored and struggling to fill my time.

RJnomore1 · 03/04/2020 22:59

You haven’t ducked me off anyway, I just needed a grumble. We are all having it hard in different ways. Least I know my job is secure.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 03/04/2020 23:04

Sorry OP but that sounds fab. I wfh normally do I'm trying to get 7 hrs done and spend time with DD11 and DS8. I haven't got time to fart let along do diy

HuggedTheRedwoods · 03/04/2020 23:14

IT related, working from home but no spare time to do anything else once the working day starts and I do a longer working day due to pressures of the industry at the moment. I am using the previous morning commute time to get up half an hour later and then outside for a walk before I log in though - that is great and I will miss it when life goes back to normal. I've wondered how people that are working from home say they are getting other stuff done, but if you're on a reduced workload I guess that makes sense.

help1653 · 03/04/2020 23:15

Working opposite hours to DH so we can both WFH - luckily I am part time so by getting up early and then working in the evening I can fit everything in. No time to do anything other than work and homeschool/entertain kids (6 and 8), however I have said they can help paint the hallway in the Easter holidays. Its a base coat only anyway so however awful it looks we will just go over it later.

SirChable · 03/04/2020 23:16

Busier in the last 3 weeks than I have been in years. Solid full days, 15 min lunch breaks.

Work in project management.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 03/04/2020 23:19

I'm very lucky. I'm working reduced hours like I said. We didn't get a choice.

I am still very lucky.

My husband is working more hours so it's balancing things out money wise.

I'm trying to get all the stuff I ask him to do done myself.

I am working from home, very busy here. I don't regard myself as a key worker but I do manage key workers who are providing essential services that still have to be delivered. A lot of my time is being spent managing our response to the current situation, finding new ways of working and dealing with people's anxieties. I spent virtually all of my working hours in virtual meetings today.

Tbh, I'm grateful that I still have a job. I thought I might be furloughed as non-essential services have been cut, but actually there is loads to do just trying to manage this new reality!

whatswithtodaytoday · 03/04/2020 23:23

Getting up at 6am to start working before my son wakes up. Then parenting and working in conjunction with my partner. Then working in the evening to catch up.

The house is a tip, I'm exhausted and I'm pretty sure I'll be first in line for redundancy because I'm so much less effective than usual.

DefConOne · 03/04/2020 23:25

NHS finance trying to do year end on slow network without any files or colleagues to talk to. I work in research so still doing that, particularly important at the moment, I’m 70% contract and done way over my hours. Not much home Ed supervision of kids aged 12 and 9 this week.

BeetrootRocks · 03/04/2020 23:36

I assume this was light hearted but things not like that here

Working, busier than usual as we respond to this
DH key worker on shifts
Ignoring the kids while I work, which is rubbish for them
Depression I had a decade ago (PND) back with a vengeance
House is a tip
Struggling to focus on work feel like letting colleagues down

goodwinter · 03/04/2020 23:41

I work in insurance in a supporting function, it's been fairly manic

thequeenbeyondthewall · 03/04/2020 23:46

It was light hearted but i thinks it's good for everyone to read about what circumstances everyone is in.

Sometimes you don't see wider than your friends and sometimes you don't have many friends to see what it's Like for them and sometimes you can be so isolated in where you live etc you don't have anything to compare it to.

For me, I live in a terraced street and I haven't seen anyone expect my next doors either way.

One is about 20 years older than me, the other is in his 80's. He won't let anyone shop for him. He insists on going himself because he lives on his own, he's got his own routine and he needs to get out for his mental health. I've offered but he doesn't want us to.

Manic here, I work in procurement, lots of calls to check suppliers can still deliver. Next week will also be helping with warehouse paperwork as we don’t have enough staff.

You're really lucky OP, that's the situation I was hoping for.

Unfortunately my work keep giving me projects to keep busy with. I also have a toddler who likes to try and steal my laptop, climb on me during calls and mash the keyboard. This has resulted in starting work at 7 and finishing up after he's in bed.

Squirrelblanket · 04/04/2020 08:23

I'm WFH. I'm quite far ahead of my main tasks at the moment as I'm much more productive at home. Once this work runs out there are things I can be doing that I've put off for ages (re-writing processes etc) to keep myself busy. After that, it will really depend on what the situation is with us going back to work. If this goes on much longer than the 12 weeks I will eventually run out of things to do. My work revolves around a particular event taking place once a quarter, so if the June one doesn't go ahead then I'll be WAY ahead of my work for the next one.

I'm trying to space work out with doing little jobs around the house, deep cleaning one room a week, decluttering etc.

Lionsleepstonight · 04/04/2020 09:43

I'm working longer hours than before, even if you include my commute time. My organisation is in a tailspin and its all hands on deck just trying to keep us afloat. Problem is, it's so easy just to pop on the laptop and send that email etc. Although it may sound like I'm complaining Im not, as the alternative is a collapsed business and I cant afford to be out of work. For us, once we furlough it'll probably the end of the line for us.
