I'm reading old fashioned pony stories at the moment (KM Peyton and the like)

It sounds ridiculous but I'm finding it very comforting. Sharing in case someone else finds it helps!

Yes me too- always have done when life gets a bit stressful. Famous five, Cherry Ames (passed down from my DM), When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit, Artemis Fowl, and Harry Potter.
@bringincrazyback I loved the Naughtiest Girl books, thanks for the reminder!

I used to read all the time when I was younger. Loved fantasy books and getting lost in my own little world. I hardly read now. I think it's because books just don't feel the same anymore. I've really struggled to find a book that I loved the way I did when I was younger.
I have a few TV programmes I put on when I want something familiar and comforting.

Me tooooo!

Narnia and Ballet Shoes so far, Enid Blyton's circusn series, Harry Potter and my old horsey books lined up ready to go.

Netflix is only ever for kids stuff for me - ever after high got me through after my Dad died, mako mermaids, H2O, project MC squared - I am a 34 year old with the book and film taste of a child and I regret nothing 😂

Not weird at all! I’m going to reread the Jinny and Shantih books (I highly recommend them if you haven’t read them already!) and I never read Mallory Towers so might give that a go!

Oh, those were great! I'd forgotten all about them, but I loved them as a horse-mad pre-teen.

I'm thinking of going up into the loft and digging out my old pony books - I have some of the Pullein-Thompson ones, Elyne Mitchell (Silver Brumby series), Hazel M.Peel, Monica Edwards and Gillian Baxter. Brilliant idea OP !

What Katy Did at School is my go-to. The description of the boxes sent from home is my favourite piece of writing ever.
