Anal fissure and lactose

I have ad a chronic anal fissure for the past year, frankly it's the worst pain ever! I appeared to go through phases of it getting better with medication but as soon as I opened my bowels it would flare again. Appears that I could go for days without opening my bowls I think it's kind of in my head and I made myself constipated

Doc wants me to go daily so prescribed Lactulose but I'm struggling to get dose right to start with I went straight in at 20mls twice a day but that just gave me cramps and real bad diarrhoea so I have started at the lower dose of 5mls twice a day, yesterday I didn't go despite feeling like there is plenty there and today I have been 3 times though not fully and still feel slightly bunged up.

I'm having awful wind that frankly stinks i trump all day long but I really want to get this cleared up as it's painful, how can I get the right dose and get this sorted

Movicol works much better for me. You can buy it OTC at the pharmacy.

Do you use glycerin suppositories? Saved my life when I had a fissure. Stop you from straining and make you go.

You have my utmost sympathy - I only had mine a few weeks and it was horrific

I use Scheriproct suppositories which are good and definitely help

I think the biggest problem is I stopped opening my bowels daily and I think slot of that was in my head and I almost stopped myself so when I did go it would flare up again.

I'm just need to get the medication right to get me going daily because a lot of the time I can feel that I need to go but as I'm not going the pressure can be really painful
