Any medical staff or experienced parents? DS massive mottled bruise after pre-school jabs, bit worried

Hi, hopefully the photos attach. DS had his pre-school jabs on Monday. One of his arms has come out in this big mottled bruise. If it was just a bruise I wouldn't question it, but it's got this sort of mottled, red appearance. DD didn't get this so it's surprised me. Does this look normal?

I'm not medical staff but I would get that checked out, I know it's not an ideal time for a visit to the GP but I don't think they would mind checking him in these circumstances, they may even let you email the same pictures? I'm sure he's fine but I would get him checked if it was me.

Is it hot? My DS got cellulitis after his preschool jabs and needed antibiotics. I’ve just had the same after an accident on my bike. I’m still on antibiotics for it.
I’d get it looked at.

That doesn't look like a bruise to me (apologies, may be the photo/my phone). It looks like the allergic reaction I have when I get bitten by certain bugs. Is it itchy? I'd phone Dr for a remote consult (phone and pictures/video call) to check. For myself I treat with antihistamine tablets/cream but obviously you need to check diagnosis and appropriate treatment with a doctor if you think it's a bruise.

My ds had that. I can't remember what the dr said, I think to monitor it. It went down after a few days with some regular calpol.
I'd get it checked by GP though.

Thanks all, that was my gut reaction too. I'll give the GP a call and see what they say. It really doesn't look like a bruise to me either.

I would have it checked out. It is hard to tell from the photo.

However, for me and my DC we all react to the tetanus part of a shot. Our upper arms swell up, are red and hot to the touch. The arm is stiff and painful. Then over a week it fades to a massive bruise. For us it is an adverse reaction, but not life threatening or anything. Just bothersome. It’s why I used to always get my seven year boosters in my left arm. But apparently we don’t need boosters anymore.

My DS's arm went just like that after the pre school jabs. I didn't notice until evening time. I tried to get it checked the day after but there were no appointments and it went away on it's own a few days later.

Oh and for clarity, where I've had similar and it's started tracking I've needed antibiotics. Might be worth drawing round it with a pen and seeing if it gets any bigger as the Dr may ask.

Thanks all - managed to get triaged on the phone already with the GP who said give Piriton and draw around it and see what happens over the rest of the day. Appreciate the comments
