What are your 11 year olds doing with their free time?

DS is 11, he’s spending his days doing his school work and he’s into drawing but apart from that it’s just xboxing with his friends. I do usually limit his time on it (and I’m not giving him free reign but I’m being far more relaxed about it now). It’s his only way of interacting with his friends so I think it’s actually quite important that he gets to do that.

Any ideas for Easter though? So far I’ve thought:

-board games
-DH to teach him to play chess
-wash the car
-baking
-Lego (might fall flat as he hasn’t played with that for a year)

Any other ideas? I’m missing the days of building dens, playing with toys etc although that is pretty exhausting especially when you’re stuck in all day!

Following with interest as I need ideas for my 12 year old! I still need to work from home, though I've taken a couple of days off. DP has just be furloughed so will be on hand to entertain him a bit.

They can play chess, and DS can also play online. He wants to do baking and says he will read.
If the weather's good, he can play football or cricket in the garden.

Apart from that it'll probably be a mix of annoying the cat and playing PS4.

My 12 year old spends her free time on her phone or watching rubbish on Netflix. I’m managing to get her into the garden or out for a walk for half an hour every day but that’s it. She’s doing 5 or 6 hours of school work all day though so I think that’s ok for the moment. The Easter holidays are going to need a rethink!

Yeah pretty much gaming. We're going out for a cycle every day too and he spends his 'lunch hour' playing with his football in the garden. Got him skipping today too. He's doing joe wicks every morning as well so although it's nowhere near the amount of exercise he normally does I think the balance is ok. We're going to play a boardgames tonight and we have regular movie nights anyway. Am going to get him to help me make some planters in the garden over Easter, he's very keen to do a bit of woodwork, and the shed needs a fresh coat of paint so probably get him to do that. Most of his interests are outside the home so it's going to be tricky if this goes on for months rather than weeks.

DS1 is nearly 12, we’re into week 4 of being at home as not in UK.

I am far more relaxed on Xbox as it is a way for him to interact with friends so probably 1.5/2 hours a day (school for us is 7.15 to 1.30 so a long afternoon!).

He’s really got into cooking so we spend a bit of time looking in recipe books and do that together with music on.

Thankfully he likes reading and got a kindle for Christmas so maybe an hour reading a day, some board games and definitely some time laughing around saying ‘I’m bored’

For the holidays I’ve set a rule of no Xbox/iPad in the mornings but from 2pm to 5pm they can do what they want (for my sanity aswell.......). DS has decided he wants to do lots of fitness so has been looking at lots of Joe Wicks videos.

Mine is just 12 and he probably spends around an hour and a half of on ps4. He's been doing around 3hours of school working. He's been baking, sketching, helping me by playing with his baby bro, going for runs with his dad and walks and playing ball outside with me.
We've signed up to Disney plus so he's been watching a movie or a show sometimes too. He reads tons as well, just got him a kindle or actually got myself a bee one and he has mine..
