Bugger. How do you get rust stains off a ceramic sink?

We fitted our kitchen last month so it's all like brand new still. I left a pizza tray in the sink overnight and it's left rust marks! Sad How can I get them off??

Bleach

IHopeYouStepOnALegoPiece · 01/04/2020 13:57

Ooh! Does anyone know how to get them off a stainless steel sink?! I’ve done exactly the same op

I also did the same on a ceramic sink and a magic sponge worked beautifully (alas not on the stainless steel!)

GiantKitten · 01/04/2020 14:00

Yes, bleach Smile

I have an old le Creuset casserole which DH will keep putting down on wet (ancient laminate) worktop. Bleach gets the rust ring off that so should be fine for your sink.

Barkeepers Friend if bleach doesn't shift it.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 01/04/2020 14:01

CIF/ Barkeepers Friend /bleach all works.

missmouse101 · 01/04/2020 14:02

Cif cream is always brilliant on these sorts of marks.

Sammysquiz · 01/04/2020 14:02

Barkeepers Friend. The powder version is better than the cream.

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/04/2020 14:05

I tried bleach, it didn't touch it!

Bar Keeper’s Friend

There is nothing that stuff can’t clean!

AintNobodyHereButUsChickens · 01/04/2020 14:44

A magic sponge has done the trick for now! But I'll look up this Barkeepers friend stuff, where would you normally find it?

The Pink Stuff, it’s like magic. Rub it on rust marks on chrome too and they come off. It’s abrasive so test in a small area first.

LolaColaMola · 01/04/2020 17:01

I've used bio washing powder before

SquatBetty · 01/04/2020 17:31

Bar Keepers Friend is brilliant - I got mine on Amazon

emsyj37 · 01/04/2020 18:16

You can buy it at Home Bargains if you have one near you. I would imagine a bigish supermarket would have it too - its pretty readily available.

KatzP · 01/04/2020 18:21

Another vote for barkeepers friend. If there are light stains left sunshine will help. Had issue with quartz worktop soon after new kitchen was fitted.

Twospaniels · 01/04/2020 18:45

Bar Keepers Friend. It’s fabulous

thegcatsmother · 01/04/2020 18:55

I use Bar Keepers friend on my old ceramic sink all the time, it gets everything off.

lachy · 01/04/2020 18:59

pink stuff.

justasking111 · 01/04/2020 19:13

Oxalic acid is what they use in industry.

bellsbuss · 01/04/2020 19:16

As pp have said bar keepers friend. I don't know what's in it but I removed a curry stain from my white quartz work top with it.

GiantKitten · 01/04/2020 19:35

Disappointed to hear bleach was no good but now I’m keen to find barkeepers friend too Grin

missmouse101 · 01/04/2020 20:13

Cif cream is just as effective!

PeterPanGoesWrong · 01/04/2020 21:03

The Pink Stuff. It’s amazing at cleaning. (And ridiculously cheap too)

Justmuddlingalong · 01/04/2020 21:06

Some Sainsburys sell barkeepers friend.
