EASTER TIME

Hi everyone, I haven't bought ANY Easter paraphernalia or a single egg. My little one is 3 . We still have the bunny ears we had last year. Last year I done an Easter egg hunt outside for him, scattering eggs here and there . Now this year , I'm too scared of the unknown germs to do that . 🙄 ... I was thinking perhaps I could do an indoor hunt , dot them here and there , but don't want to spend money if he's not going to eat the eggs. I won't eat them either , so.... I'm unsure really whether to celebrate the day at all or let it pass us by

Hi OP. Is there any reason a 3 yo wouldn't eat chocolate eggs?!

As for the egg hunt indoors, go for it! That's what my parents always used to do for us as kids if it was rainy on Easter Sunday. My mum would swear blind she'd just seen the Easter bunny's tail scooting out of the door, and we'd race round to see if he'd left any eggs in the house. Just get a load of multicoloured foiled eggs, and then you can always fish a few out of his basket when he's not looking if you think he's got too many... my parents confessed they used to do this when I was small, then re-hide it - and I sometimes 'found' the same egg three or four times. Bargain!

Hi @BSJohnson ... Well, he just isn't a chocolatey kinda kid really. But just for the experience alone, I feel like it's worth having the Easter egg hunt, absolutely love your mom's way she made it special for you guys. Thank you for taking your time to respond. I think I'll definitely do it for him.

My kids love chocolate so I wouldn't have this dilemma, but I'm sure if you Google you may be able to find some non edible ideas.

I just found an indoor hunt with clues - you'd need to print them or copy them onto paper and then I guess the prize at the end could be something else "from the bunny" like a colouring book, play dough or maybe a single Kinder egg with a toy inside?

Order some plastic eggs online and fill them with things he likes ? Stickers, sweets, biscuits?

Absolutely do the egg hunt, I remember loving them from a young age (I have a vivid memory of childhood). Even just finding egg-shaped things for what he likes would be lovely.

When I was six (older than your DS I know), my much older cousin once went to a lot of trouble to convince me that the Easter bunny was hiding eggs right in front of me. After showing me the room which was bare of eggs, she blindfolded me, telling me that the bunny was shy and didn't want to be seen, and she got the bunny to talk to me in a squeaky voice: it was actually her brother, who I didn't know was there with her. She got me to feel his bunny ears and tail, and to hold out a carrot to give to him. Then she took my blindfold off: there was no sign of the bunny, but eggs were all round, which weren't there before.
