Has anyone tried this in a nutribullet? My stand mixer is broke. I've never actually had a cup of coffee in my life but I need to make one of these today!

Dalgona Coffee Recipe | Trader Joe's

Published on Aug 12, 2020

Dalgona coffee is the “be-your-own-barista” beverage that’s been sweeping social media during this past season of staying home. Stateside, it seemed like this four-ingredient, whipped wonder sprung onto the scene suddenly, but in its native South Korea, dalgona is nothing new.

Either way, as it turns out, our super-soluble Trader Joe's Instant Coffee is an ideal ingredient for this cool, creamy, coffee concoction! Learn how to make it yourself, step-by-step with just a few ingredients…

Here’s how to make dalgona with Trader Joe’s Instant Coffee:
0:04 | Add two teaspoons of Trader Joe’s Instant Coffee to a medium mixing bowl
0:07 | Next add two teaspoons of Trader Joe’s Organic Sugar
0:11 | And, add two teaspoons of hot water
0:15 | Then whisk vigorously… for several minutes
0:26 | The mixture is ready when it’s light and fluffy
0:31 | To make your beverage, fill a glass with ice, add milk or your favorite Trader Joe’s non-dairy beverage (like Trader Joe’s Unsweetened Non-Dairy Hemp Beverage), and fill the glass about three-quarters full
0:36 | Finally, add your whipped coffee mixture on top with an artful swirl and ENJOY!

I’ve tried it in mine and it wasn’t particularly successful. Not sure if I just didn’t leave it for long enough or if it’s something to do with the blade situation rather than using a whisk. Was tasty nonetheless but not like it should be.

I used an electric whisk and it took ages!
It was nice but not worth the length of time it took to do it. Also I couldn't get it as thick as you're meant to be able to. 🤷‍♂️

I heard from the original South Korean creators that it's all in the wrist action if using manual method and not electronic whisk.

I prefer mine Irish style with Sheridan's liqueur to give it extra alcoholic kick and for extra indulgence sprinkle some chilli and bitter dark Belgium chocolate flakes grated on top. Cheers!
