Irrational hatred of certain TV presenters.

Mine is the chirpy Northern Irish sports presenter on BBC Breakfast. She spouts the England biased sports news with such glee. Another is the man who presents the Click section (tech) section of the same programme. Lastly Dr Sarah Jarvis - smug TV medic.
Can you tell I'm fed up of social distancing already.
Who irritates the Bejeezus out of you?

Wow I'm all for a bit of light hearted waffle but this thread is just plain nasty.

HPLikecraft · 29/03/2020 09:43

I saw a news presenter on a news channel the other day... can’t remember if it was Sky or BBC, but she had the most horrible, brash nasal voice. I had to turn her off.
Don’t they consider someone voice and style when hiring presenters!

supercee · 29/03/2020 09:45

Krishnan Guru-Murthy
Amanda Holden
Lorraine Kelly
Phil & Holly

All give me the rage.

Camouflage · 29/03/2020 09:47

Piers Morgan
Susanna Reid
Davina McCall

@Pulppixies I knew there had to be someone else like me!!! Seriously can not do with him and hate every single one of the programmes he's has ever made! Annoying voice, annoying filming and annoying music. And he's smug.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/03/2020 09:47

I used to dislike John Barrowman but then the swine turned it round when he invited Terrance (who spent every Christmas alone) to his show .
Picked up, driven to Sheffield , sitting with JB Mum&Dad, meal, driven home .

Ohhh put a tear in my eyes.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/03/2020 09:48

I'm already dreading Bake Off with Matt Whatshisname. Loved Noel and Sandi - but that Little Britain guy - just no.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 29/03/2020 09:49

And I've just seen there are more than just us!! Have always felt a bit like a freak not liking him! Now I know I'm not alone 🤣

Sux2buthen · 29/03/2020 09:50

@unchienandalusia I agree, nasty bullying. I thought consideration for the mental well-being of others was improving but then I'm reminded that if you're in the public eye you are fair game. Pathetic.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 29/03/2020 09:50

@TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross me too...seriously can't believe that there was absolutely no woman presenter available to present either!

Beatricekiddo27 · 29/03/2020 09:51

All of the Loose Women. Saddens me that Ruth lowered herself to present that. The worst ones are probably carol mcgiffin and Denise Welch. After the whole Kim Woodburn saga I don't think the Nolan's should ever present again either. But in general the smug, self important personas is these has beens and the way they drop their husbands name into every second gets right on my nerves Grin

Tana433 · 29/03/2020 09:51

Carol Malone. She appears regularly on the Jeremy Vine show and i cant bear her. Not too fond of him either. Not sure why i watch really!

MrsMoastyToasty · 29/03/2020 09:53

Eamon Holmes
Amanda Holden
Paul Gambaccini

unchienandalusia · 29/03/2020 09:54

#bekind lasted longer then.

ageingdisgracefully · 29/03/2020 09:55

Joe Bloody Wicks. He's on now, on Marr. Very pleased with himself and a bloody annoying voice/ way of speaking.

Rylan Wotsit. He's everywhere! Can't stand him.

And why is Susan Calman on everything at the moment?

Makes you want to go back to work....

w00dlander · 29/03/2020 09:56

Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock (Sky at Night) - too fast and too breathy.

Dan Walker - stopped watching BBC breakfast when he became a main anchor, hate him!

Davina Macall- shudder.

Ant MacPartlin - drinks and drives and back in the limelight. Should be in prison.

happinessischocolate · 29/03/2020 10:00

Many years ago I worked with Stephen Mulhern @SimonJT, he's actually a really lovely fella, wicked sense of humour and loves a nightclub. Was lovely to everyone no matter what role you had where we worked.
Oh don't say that, I love him even more now 😍

Annoying celebs are Amanda Holden and Tess Daley I cannot abide Tess

I used to hate Anthea Turner but then everything went tits up for her and I felt sorry for her, I even watched her perfect housewife shit but then she did that stupid advert and off she went again

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/03/2020 10:03

I'm reminded that if you're in the public eye you are fair game. Pathetic

Eh? No-one has to like someone just because they are on TV.
I'm 100% sure IRL there is someone that you just don't get on with for stupid reasons . You just avoid them .
Well on TV , you switch them off .

No-one here is saying "I don't like XYZ because they're fat/old/wear glasses/gay/ black/white/blue with spots "

There are some bloody talentless pricks on TV. I won't list but we can all think of some Hmm

awaynboilyurheid · 29/03/2020 10:07

Susan Calman is only funny in her own mind.! Reminds me of one of those much indulged children whose parents think she is funny then grows up to be an adult and continues to think she is hilarious!
Also Alison Hammond laughing loudly at every stupid thing is not a talent nor a personality, cant stand her on this morning.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 29/03/2020 10:19

I had no idea who Susan Calman is but now I've Googled her - I was up at my parents a few weeks ago , there was an advert on all the bloody time about Glasgow or a Bank (I paid that much attention) she was on it.....yeah I can see everyones point .

And there's a bloke called Sean who is on everything . Weather, Childrens Lottery , Sean's Scotland . He's a bit like Scotland's Ben Shephard. Harmless, nice personality on screen , nothing offensive .

NebbiaZanzare · 29/03/2020 10:54

Christian Jessen

I know he probably thought he was just being lighthearted and it was off the cuff bad joke.

But to say we're all locked in our houses over here cos we are basically lazy ?

We're watching the thousands of dead rise in number by the high hundreds every day. My heart is breaking for my friend and his children as they mourn his dad, and I can't go and put my arms around them. They are deprived of the centuries old rituals designed to help those left behind in a sea of grief. Tens of thousands of Italians are in exactly the same boat. Hundreds of thousands of us are feeling helpless and useless because we can't go to the people doubled over in intense pain.

I know it was more thoughtless than deliberately meant to wound. And I recognise my reaction is out of proportion.

But I see his smug face in our newspapers and my bile rises, burning my throat.

Imok · 29/03/2020 10:59

I tend to think that when someone is in 'showbusiness', whether they are a top Hollywood celebrity or a local news weather presenter, it's the result of a conscious decision to be in that industry. We all 'like' or 'dislike' people we come across in our lives - co-workers, family, even strangers at a bus stop. Sometimes we have a good reason and sometimes we don't. I don't really see this as any different. There are some presenters I don't like and I will always turn TV or radio off, or find something else to watch it listen to. I can't stand overly 'sincere' presenters or rude ones - so for me, Lorraine Kelly, Carol McGiffin, Nick Abbot and James O'Brien (both lbc radio) are on my list.

Cacaca · 29/03/2020 11:12

Rochelle Humes and Amanda Holden - cannot watch either of them.

TroysMammy · 29/03/2020 11:12

Ainsley Harriot.
