What are you all doing today?

Usually, by now, I'd be finishing getting ready for work so I have time for a Brew before leaving the house. This morning, I'm drinking coffee in the kitchen instead, with the washer going & listening to the radio.

The girls had a late night last night so are still in bed.

I think we're going to get out in the garden & start sorting that out, once they're up and have some breakfast. The grass definitely needs mowing & the ivy at the bottom needs cutting back as far as possible.

Later on it's chicken fajitas for tea & write a shopping list for the week.

What about all of you?

One of my kids birthday today so we’ll celebrate that in some way, but otherwise I’m just doing laundry, tidying and having a rest (so, semi normal Saturday!).

Devlesko · 28/03/2020 12:09

I'm cleaning and sorting, then getting on with some business.
Dh and dd are recording music for the school website.
Then they will be practising for most of the day, and then we'll be chilling together tonight.
Normal saturday, really.

Oblomov20 · 28/03/2020 12:27

Dh made us all do a spring clean. Ds's weren't that impressed! We dusted, put the bin lids in the dish washer, cleaned the outside of the fridge and the finger grooves of the kitchen cabinets and drawers - you know the groove you use to open them.

Now sat down. Knackered.

Bezalelle · 28/03/2020 12:30

DH finally convinced me to get a trial of Disney+ so he's on a Star Wars binge.

DCat is sleeping on his favourite cushion, as per.

I'm ploughing through the pile of unfinished books that's been languishing on the coffee table since time immemorial.

Food sorted for the day, as we made a big pot of stew with pantry leftovers last night.

EsmeeMerlin · 28/03/2020 12:33

At the moment we have not really done much at all, and are all still in pjs with Disney plus on.
Dh has worked all week(key worker) and I have been at home home schooling ds1 and trying to keep ds2 busy. We were really good all week about being dressed by 8:30, having a good routine so since it’s saturday we are relaxing more today.

Morgan12 · 28/03/2020 12:45

Walk and potter in garden today. All housework is done. I've actually got dressed in clothes today and not fresh pjs.

Child free tonight so will have some wine.

I'm making pasta for dinner. Would love to have a takeaway but I'm a bit paranoid about them just now.

permana · 28/03/2020 12:45

Got up and got showered and dress as I had a work video call.
Tried to fix a leaking pipe upstairs, which I can't, so will have to just leave it for now dripping away (I can't get a bowl under the dripping area) hopefully the ceiling can take it until we are allowed plumbers again.
Put washing on, eating lunch now.
Can't be bothered to do much, I'm working FT out of the house still.
Will go for a run later when the trails will be clear of people, might just watch TV this afternoon & do some baking.

jamrollyolly · 28/03/2020 12:56

Ooh I'm so pleased you asked, as DD and I made a beautiful to do list earlier. If I ever get my lazy ass out of the bath, I'll post a pic! Wink

lucysmam · 28/03/2020 13:04

@jamrollyolly you have to share now, I'm intrigued as to what's on your list!

OP posts:
jamrollyolly · 28/03/2020 13:48

I took a picture but it won't load! Here's the list:

Make gnocchi
Learn a tik tok dance ( me!)
Make a fabric wrap
Bike ride
Make sourdough starter
Do some just dance
Do s doggy photo shoot
Make some fimo friends
Watch a film
Make cheese twists.

TheSheepofWallSt · 28/03/2020 13:53

DS had a fall down the stairs and bump on the head last night, so he’s having a TV day- nurse said to rest as much as possible for 48 hours. He has a huge black eye, and it’s making his lovely toddler face look quite sinister. Shock

I’m spending the time clearing out the cupboard under the stairs, sawing up the fallen elder tree in the garden, and roasting a chicken, while DS either lounges on the patio chairs wrapped in a blanket, or watches tv in the lounge.

Grey and windy here, and I’m going to have a glass of wine with lunch.

lucysmam · 28/03/2020 14:11

Aw your poor ds @TheSheepofWallSt, I hope he feels better soon :(

@jamrollyolly doggy photo shoot sounds fun! You'll have to try and show us a photo later on.

It's raining here so gardening is postponed :( we're going to get the Easter craft box out of the loft and see what's in there instead (I picked some reduced things up last year in Asda).

Beautiful but fresh day here.
Amazon just delivered a 20m lan cable (observing due precautions) so DD can continue to work in her room instead of crouching next to the router.
DS will start on his physics homework soon and I have turned our largely unused 'sitting room' into a complete workspace and can sit here working in fresh air.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 28/03/2020 14:23

We downloaded Disney plus this morning and we're on film number 6

pippishortsocks · 28/03/2020 14:29

A bit of laundry, learning how to do diagrams for MN on Paint3d, filled the garden pond and reading some stuff for work.

CoronaIsComing · 28/03/2020 14:33

I annoying woke up at 6:40 so it’s been a long day. I’ve done a bit of housework, made endless brews and food and watched the Queen film and now The first Harry Potter (for the millionth time!). It’s cold, windy and raining on and off here so going for our one form of daily exercise isn’t that appealing. Getting a takeaway for tea.

DS would usually be at BMXing today and maybe snowboarding after or visiting friends so it’s a big change for us ☹️

Thekindyoufindinasecondhand · 28/03/2020 14:39

Eating, napping and Netflix.
Usually a lot more productive but my energy level is low today (20 weeks pregnant maybe that?!) So not going to feel guilty about having a lazy day.
Everything else can be done tomorrow Grin

Frownette · 28/03/2020 14:49

Waiting for a delivery, drinking tea, then taking a shower and braving the supermarket. I hate going Sad

suziesue45 · 28/03/2020 14:53

I managed to do a shop at tesco this morning, first time I've managed to get anywhere due to working. I got home and did some gardening and now it's raining so I'm glad I got a bit done. My daughter has been glued to her phone and as soon as I asked for help she realised she had a bit of homework to finish off 😂

TheGonnagle · 28/03/2020 14:57

Lie in
Waffles and mango for breakfast
Spring clean/dd had online singing lesson
Waiting for my wine to arrive
Curry and chappati cooking
Online dinner party with friends

Whattheduck · 28/03/2020 15:05

I’ve been picking a room a day for the past week and sorting out cupboards/drawers etc and giving it a good spring clean so today I’m having a day of doing very little
Dh is in the garden
Dd is in her bedroom watching a film and chatting to friends/boyfriend on FaceTime
I’m watching Midsomer Murders
Having home cooked fish and chips for tea today then will probably watch tv or a film with dh and have a couple of drinks

yamadori · 28/03/2020 15:13

Hunted in the bushes next to the shed to find the shed door key, after the door blew open earlier and the key fell out of the lock.

Made raspberrry jelly.

Had a phone call from NDN who asked if we wanted some milk as her milkman has delivered too much and she has a surplus.

I've gone through the cupboards, made a shopping list and been to the Co-op which was really quiet. Got a joint of lamb for tomorrow, which we haven't had for a while, so I'm looking forward to that.

Read a book about bonsai.

Persuaded DH to spring clean the bathroom (mainly to get him away from his incessant hoovering, which he thinks is a help, but is actually just an annoying noise). Grin

Spent some time on the bbc news website trying to find some actual news not related to youknowwhat.

Now I'm about to start doing the potatoes for tonight's dinner.

tempnamechange98765 · 28/03/2020 15:18

We're trying to differentiate the weekends from weekdays for DS1 age 4, so today we went downstairs in our pjs, watched a bit of Milkshake after breakfast (he never normally gets morning TV and he usually has Rugby Tots on a Sat morning) and lazed before getting dressed. DH has to go to Morrison's for some supplies so he went there and told the staff on checkout how grateful we are to them.

Then we FaceTimed family, did some Lego, had lunch, before going out for a walk to a park local to us, DS1 on his scooter and DS2 in the pram. We're now home having a cuppa, biscuit, will watch a Disney film later and then DH and I are having a takeaway from our local Indian for dinner. To be honest this is a typical weekend day for us, other than DS1 would've had Rugby Tots and I would've gone to the gym. And we wouldn't have thought twice about going to a food shop/bakery for cakes etc!

DinosApple · 28/03/2020 15:28

DH is doing the garden and trying to grow as much veg as possible.

I'm sat on the sofa with a lingering chest infection. DC are watching HP 2.

Later I'm doing a food stock take (got shopping but eeking it out), meal plan for the next fortnight. Then Scrabble with a small glass of something cold.

Holothane · 28/03/2020 15:49

Slowly clearing kitchen for big clean next week, made a wish list on the range web site for rose gold kitchen stuff for my birthday in July. Lots of stuff going as can’t use it due to arthritis lower back killing me today.
