Physical blue light filter screen or just turning down the blue light in the settings?

Physical blue light filter screen or just turning down the blue light in the settings? Are they equally effective or is one significantly better?

I've heard that blue light can cause pigmentation, wrinkles, etc (which seems to be true) as it's harmful - so want to find the best way to prevent this happening.

A proper filter is better. If you're talking about any kind of app or software solution it won't make any difference.

I don't know about wrinkles etc but this is for if you're trying to avoid your brain getting "dawn" signals.

But you would presumably also have to do it for lightbulbs etc - are you sure it's not UV light you're thinking of? Screens don't generally give off light in the UV frequencies.

Thanks @BertieBotts

It is blue light I am referring to, e.g. see this article
www.allure.com/story/blue-light-phone-skin-effects

I don't think the effects of it on wrinkles are well known yet as I, just like you, also knew of the effect on affecting sleep-wake rhythms and also thought UV was the only one that can affect skin.
