I've watched you and stranger and I'm excited that the new series of Friday night dinners is back tonight.

I don't watch much tv but I watched Sex Education and really enjoyed it as it was so funny.

Ylvamoon · 29/03/2020 09:06

Loved:
Unorthodox
Mindhunter
Unabomber
A letter for the King - good to watch with older DC
Currently watching Freud.

Not Netflix, but on BBC iPlayer there is a brilliant old documentary called Searching For The wrong Eyed Jesus about the small towns and the Deep South... Fascinating to watch, would really recommend it.

BlackCatSleeping · 29/03/2020 09:16

I just love 13 Reasons Why.

FaithInfinity · 29/03/2020 09:17

Crazy ex-girlfriend!

AngelaScandal · 29/03/2020 10:12

One day at a time.
Single mom, multi generational, Latin vibe.

BitOfFun · 29/03/2020 10:35

On Amazon Prime: UnREAL. Absolutely superb behind-the-scenes look at the amoral producers manipulating contestants to deliver a dating reality show. Highly fictionalised, but compelling viewing, with proper character arcs. I was spellbound.

Sumlove · 29/03/2020 10:41

You, Workin mom's is a funny easy watch. I need something new 🤔

BitOfFun · 29/03/2020 10:54

You'd like UnREAL, I think, Sumlove.

thesunwillout · 29/03/2020 10:59

The Staircase. Documentary following the defense side of a suspected murder.
Grim but I enjoyed it.

pickleface · 29/03/2020 11:06

I am very late to the game with prison break and I'm hooked!

Also good are:
Unbelievable
The unabomber series
The state v OJ Simpson
The Versace one

Shannith · 29/03/2020 11:11

Sex Education. Was a bit meh about the hype but it's so good. Funny and touching.

Plus Gillian Anderson's wardrobe!

LennyPugGoat · 31/03/2020 23:07

Keep them coming...

Following - cause I will forget everything everyone recommended 😁

ifeellikeanidiot · 31/03/2020 23:21

GLOW - women's wrestling team. Based on a true story. Just great.
Top Boy. London drug crime/inner city drama. Start with the Channel 4 ones first.
Wild, Wild Country: Incredible documentary series about a cult.
Making a Murderer: addictive crime documentary series.
Brooklyn 99: Greatest tv series ever made. I'm always surprised when people haven't heard of it. Police comedy. Great family watching for kids aged 9+.
Cheer: a beautifully made documentary series about a college cheer leading squad. Please dont think this is fluff just because its about cheerleading.

I'm hooked by documentary series Tiger King at the moment. I also really enjoyed the Unabomber series a couple of years back.

ifeellikeanidiot · 31/03/2020 23:23

Edit: I think Brooklyn 99 is great family watching with 9+ aged kids but other May's disagree. It's got a 15 rating and I've never worked out why.

squishee · 31/03/2020 23:24

Dark. Have watched the three seasons over and over again. So compelling.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 01/04/2020 16:06

Have just scanned the thread and am amazed nobody has mentioned Schitt's Creek. It's very funny and quite heartwarming. Rewatches reveal plot points you missed the first time round, and the cast are fantastic.

And if you start now, you'll be just in time for the final season (6) dropping in a month or so I think

RhymingRabbit3 · 03/04/2020 11:55

We're currently watching Line of Duty which I think was originally BBC but is on Netflix - it's fantastic.
For comedy we loved The Good Place.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 03/04/2020 14:02

The best Netflix series bar none is Dark

I am still devastated over the cancellation of The OA it ends on a bloody cliffhanger too

I also thought it was a shame they didn't renew Everything Sucks

Other great lesser known series

Travelers

Manhunt : Unabomber

The 3%

I used to strongly recommend Power but the final season was dreadful, badly written, badly acted, deadly dull.

One off films?

Twinsters

Life Animated

Lost Girls

Abducted In Plain Sight

squishee · 05/04/2020 09:13

Einereise, it's so true!
I've spent ages trying to memorize all the family trees! There are quite a lot of fan sites out there.

vampirethriller · 07/04/2020 12:33

Kath and Kim

Just started Daybreak which is getting better
