Toys for shielded 9 month old

DS is 9 months old next week and has to be shielded for the next 12 weeks at least. His team have confirmed he shouldn’t even be going for his daily walk.

I need your recommendations for toys and games! Want to set up different rooms with different toys to rotate so he gets a change of scenery.

He has no siblings. He’s developmentally normal. He can sit and roll onto his side but not all the way over. He can feed himself, he can stand supported, he can’t crawl yet but it’s coming.

Thanks in advance!!!

Musical instruments, shakers, piano, drum etc.

Bubbles.

Lots and lots of books.

Balls/ballpit

Some softplay type stuff for when he gets crawling.

A walker/something to walk along pushing

Something with flaps to open/lids to open close/drawers to open and close. Melissa and Doug do some great puzzle type boards with bits to open and close.

Your standard plastic toys that makes noise!

Mostly they just like normal household stuff. A pan with some dried pasta and spoon/scoop etc. Pots to bang. Tub of stuff to tip on the floor.

Google treasure baskets. They're great.

The Imagination Tree website had some great ideas.

ball pit and balls to fill it
rocking toy (with safety harness)
indoor swing, this bar attaches in the door frame and then you hang a seat like this onto the bar

all the best x

Ball pit and balloons were big hits with DS at that age.

Unmumsnetty hugs to you, must be a scary time Flowers

@NuffSaidSam I read that wrong initially and googled treasure brackets. Got a load of teaching resources about how to solve equations and was flattered you though DS was a boy genius but concluded you must be mad!

Then I googled treasure baskets and they are lovely! DS was meant to be going to a Montessori nursery in June although obviously that’s on hold now. Thanks so much for the inspiration!

Textured balls

Bubbles that you blow over them

Bath toys - long baths do they can play with toys

We had a wooden cube with a bead frame toy on the top and a different activity on each side. We weighted it down with phone books inside it so they couldn’t pull it over as they tried to stand up.

Tupperware tubs with cars of things they can put into them.

A pile of grated cheese, grated apple or grated cucumber always kept them occupied in the highchair whilst preparing dinner. Also good for developing their pincer grip.

Gloop (cornflour and water).
Water play in the bathroom
Nurseries often so interesting things with paddling pools and shaving foam. Adding coffee grinds etc.... though it's messy.
Sand.
Craft- handprints/footprints.
Stacking cups, for stacking, counting, sorting things into etc etc.
A ramp set for cars- like the fisher price one with lots of ramps on it.

Grin I'm sure he's very bright OP!

Treasure baskets are lovely! And as much fun for the adult to make as the baby to play with I've always found.
